STUDENT IMPACT Project Highlights
Impact Investing.
Impact investing students conducted due diligence on Tulaa, a tech company based in Nairobi, and presented their findings to the Sorenson Impact Foundation investment committee. Tulaa uses mobile technology to provide smallholder farmers in rural Africa with market access, credit, and advisory services.
Data Science.
Over the past year, students in the data science tract have assisted the Center's data scientists and research staff with research and data modeling for the MAPS Project. This project simulated future enrollments of first-time students for every degree-granting institution in the U.S. and estimated the impact of enrollments on institutions.
Policy Innovation.
In collaboration with its stakeholders, the Center's policy innovation and impact measurement staff and students developed a strategic plan for the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program. The plan proposes a pathway for statewide expansion of the program and includes a financial model and impact metrics.
Impact Storytelling.
The Center's impact storytelling team is proud to raise the profile of social entrepreneurs. Students have helped create 25 impact films this year and write corresponding articles, many of which have been featured on our Forbes original content series: The Impact Revolution.
