My favorite month of the year has arrived!

House is decorated….since Labor Day! LOL Costumes are being put together. Addie, who did our family Christmas pictures last year, is going to be in town this month so figured it would be a great time for a spooky photo op. Do you want to join in the spooky fun? Addie has times open in the afternoon on Sunday, Oct 17 at The Poinsett Bridge, by appointment only. Douglas and Ashly are super picky about pictures and they loved our Christmas ones so that is saying a lot. Please contact me to schedule a time and for more information.

If you don’t know about the Poinsett Bridge, this Gothic stone arch was constructed in 1820, it is believed to be the oldest surviving bridge in the state. The bridge connected Charleston and Columbia with the North Carolina mountain communities into Tennessee.

And just for clarification, this doesn’t have to be a Halloween inspired photo setting. This is just a pretty area and I love the bridge. So you dress however you want. Should be a great time of year for family photos. Get those Christmas cards ready early!

Until we connect... create a beautiful day!

Skin Savvy Tip fit for a Queen!

You’ll lose your head when you hear about what this infamous queen of France used for her skincare!

👉 Perhaps the queen’s most infamous beauty practice was cleansing her skin with “Eau Cosmetique de Pigeon”, a concoction made from melons, cucumbers, lemons, white wine, French roll crumbs, and other ingredients.

💅 To enjoy some self-care time, our royal friend would use a face mask made with:

  • two teaspoons of circulation-stimulating cognac
  •  ⅓ cup of cell-renewing dry milk powder
  • brightening lemon juice, and one egg white

Though Marie fell out of favor with the French people, her signature face mask is still popular in France today!

Next time you’re in need of a little relaxation, kick back with some cake and try out Marie’s face mask for an evening fit for a queen!

October's FACIAL OF THE MONTH:

Vampire Facial!

I vant to drink your blood! Just kidding I love these rubber masks. They feel a little weird and are on the cold side but the skin looks hydrated and just glows afterwards.

The Vampire Facial is made with Poly-L-Lactic acid which helps to boost collagen production to help gradually:

*increase skin thickness

*smoother skin for a more youthful appearance

*reduce the appearance of laugh lines, smile lines, and neck lines

*overall skin firming and plumping

All of the usual goodies found in The Over The Moon Facial will happen - double cleansing, exfoliation, serums, moisturizer, massage of the face, decollette, upper back, arms, hands, legs, feet and scalp, and ending with Colorescience Mineral Makeup which provides your sun protection and allows you to get on with your day with a polished look. I do of course mess up the hair a little but make it a hat day!

This treatment is an hourish for $95

Product of the Month: Skinscript Retinaldehyde Serum with Iconic-A

Perfect for all skin types in need of rejuvenation and pro-aging care, Gentle enough for sensitive skins.

1 oz - This ultimate pro-aging serum is to be used in the evening for cell repair and health. As cells go under oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, Vitamins A (retinaldehyde) & B3 (niacinamide) condition the cell membrane encouraging cellular respiration. This allows nutrition to flow into the cell and helps cellular waste escape. The mitochondria (cell energy source) is treated for DNA repair, in essence treating for lipofuscin and solar lentigines. SymWhite contains potent levels of tyrosinase inhibitors to work on even skin tone. Bisabolol soothes skin sensitivities so this serum will not irritate the skin.

BENEFITS:

  • Treats skin cell health
  • Brightens and tones the tissue
  • Encourages fibroblast activity and lessens the appearance of wrinkles
  • Antioxidant

HOW TO USE:

Apply in the evening to face, neck and décolleté after using your favorite Skin Script Cleanser, Toner and then apply Skin Script Retinaldehyde Serum with IconicA be sure to shake well before use. Apply your favorite Skin Script Moisturizer on top.

If you have sensitive or reactive skin break your skin in slowly using only a 2-3 times per week and then increase your use.

KEY INGREDIENTS:

  • IconicA (Retinal/Retinaldehyde) 2.5% converted into 0.1% Retinaldehyde is a stable and non-irritating form of Vitamin A addressing cell membrane health. As cells are exposed to environmental pollution and stress, IconicA allows for permeability of the cell to allow nutrition to flow in and cellular waste to escape the cell. This leads to healthy, soft cells with an even skin tone.
  • Niacinamide (5%) is Vitamin B3 addresses many skin disorders due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Vitamin B3 addresses cellular respiration, lipid synthesis, inhibiting skin pigmentation and improving epidermal barrier function. Vitamin B3 treats the mitochondria (energy source) of the cell to repair DNA damage from the sun. Vitamin B3 also treats inflammatory acne.
  • Carnitine (L) transports essential fatty acids into mitochondria for energy production, increasing skin turnover and limiting trans epidermal water loss.
  • SymWhite TM (Phenylethyl Resorcinol) is an effective skin brightener and antioxidant containing potent levels of tyrosinase inhibition.
  • Bisabolol (L-Alpha) acts as an anti-inflammatory, promotes wound healing, reduces sensitivity, and alleviates heat while soothing skin irritation.
