It is extremely important for safety reasons that students are wearing the correct dance attire and footwear for the correct dance style.
I am still noticing a lot of bare feet in class (excluding Contemporary of course where this is required). If you found out that your child's feet have grown over the xmas break can I suggest joining our Vibe 2nd Hand Facebook Group?! This is a private group for Vibe Dance Studio parents ONLY. On this group page you can buy and sell pre-loved vibe attire and dance shoes.
So don't wait any longer!! Sell those ill fitting shoes on to our younger dancers and grab some pocket money to purchase a new pair of proper fitting shoes.
Likewise, I suggest joining if you are looking to purchase anything for your child. Alternately, jump onto the Vibe Dance Studio website to purchase all your needs online.
It’s really important to buy good quality, dance shoes appropriate to the dance style.
It’s also important that shoes fit correctly. All dance shoes must have a snug fit. While it’s tempting to buy shoes with ‘room to grow’, loose fitting shoes can be dangerous, as the extra length or width may trip up your child and cause friction and blisters. Well-fitting shoes will also help your child get the proper ‘feel’ of the floor.
The best time to purchase dance shoes is in the afternoon, when your child’s foot is slightly swollen – similar to the way they will feel after dance class.
Label all shoes to make sure they return to the right child.
