Let’s Talk Directory: A guide to emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people in Sheffield

Just as we need to look after our bodies, we also need to look after our emotional and mental wellbeing. How we feel can change from day to day depending on what is happening in our lives and sometimes we might need a little help.

NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group and Sheffield City Council have launched a guide to emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people in Sheffield.

The Let’s Talk Directory is an online directory which lists the various services available to support children and young people’s mental health in Sheffield. If you’re a young person, a parent or carer or someone who works with young people, this guide will help you find the right advice and support and see what services are available in Sheffield.
Neighbourhoods

Neighbourhoods is a programme of work that will bring together health, social care, local authorities and other important organisations across Sheffield such as charities and voluntary groups to look at how the provision of care can be improved.

The work will look at how GP practices in neighbourhoods can work better with other organisations, to ensure that the local population can have better access and care closer to their homes.

Neighbourhoods will work in the following ways:
  • Each neighbourhood will have a population size of between 30 to 50,000 people
  • There will be 14 defined neighbourhoods across the city
  • GP Practices will help to coordinate how services can made better and delivered
  • Neighbourhoods will encourage joint working across all sectors and organisations in Sheffield
The main aims of the work are to:
  1. Improve health outcomes
  2. Improve the quality of care and the patient/user experience
  3. To deliver better value for money
The work around neighbourhoods is still developing and there will be many opportunities for ‘Involve Me’ members to get involved in shaping future services and delivery of care in communities.

We will keep you updated on progress and will soon have a section on our website explaining more on the initiative – stay tuned!

In the meantime if you’d like further information on the work or express an interest in participating please email: SHECCG.EngagementActivity@nhs.net.
