Involve Me - March 2018 update

What we're doing at the moment

Consultation: NHS-funded children’s short breaks services

We have just launched a consultation around NHS children’s short breaks services – formerly known as respite care. We want to make sure that the NHS–funded short breaks services for children with complex health needs are:
  • Fair for families
  • Easy to access for families
  • Flexible for families

It is really important that we hear from people, particularly those who use the service now and who might use the service in the future. So please let us know your experiences, concerns and ideas. The consultation finishes on 28 March 2018.

If you would like more information or have any questions please contact the Children’s Commissioning Team on 0114 305 1028
or email SHECCG.ChildrensCommissioning@nhs.net.
Do you have views on Hospital Services in your area?

Your views are sought to help shape hospital services in South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and Chesterfield at our next public engagement event in March.

Thursday 8 March 2018
9.30am – 3pm
at The Source at Meadowhall

We are bringing together Healthcare professionals across South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and Chesterfield with patients and the public to consider the options which have been developed with a view to how hospital services could be delivered in the future to make sure local people continue to get safe, sustainable, high quality care.

You will hear about each of the five services currently being reviewed:
  • Urgent and Emergency care
  • Maternity Services
  • Hospital Services for Children who are acutely unwell
  • Gastroenterology services including investigations (Endoscopy)
  • Stroke (early supported discharge and rehabilitation)

At the event the ideas which have been put forward of how services could be delivered differently in the future will be presented. You will then have the opportunity to ask questions and give your thoughts.

Booking is ESSENTIAL for this public event. A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please advise of any dietary or access requirements when booking.

Please email acs.engagement@nhs.net or telephone 0114 305 4637.

News from our local partners

Local people improving cancer survival

Be Cancer Safe is a community approach to improving cancer survival in South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire. The aim is to make everyone aware of the signs and symptoms of cancer, know what screening is available to them and ultimately increase the number of people diagnosed at an earlier stage.

Ordinary members of the community can get involved and be supported to raise awareness with their family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues. They will assist in giving information which is beneficial to others, motivate people to be more aware and alert to cancer symptoms and seek early medical assistance.

If you are interested in getting involved in the Be Cancer Safe social movement email sheffieldccg.sybndcanceralliance@nhs.net with your name, the area you live in and your contact details or visit their facebook page.

Thank you for your continued interest in NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and health and social care services across the City. We hope that you find this information interesting and would like to contribute to our work. We'd love to hear your thoughts about our newsletter.
