We are an open community that supports the emergence of psychedelics as agents of transformation.
BPS is committed to creating and fostering an inclusive community where members of all races, genders, gender identities, religions, or sexual orientation are valued, respected, safe, and empowered.

Dear BPS Community,

Happy Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse Blessings!

We are have been so fortunate to be able to gather and hold events outside through most of 2021. We have held informative monthly community meetings, Ecstatic Dances, Sound Meditation Journeys, Cacao Ceremonies, a Medicine Music Meditation, a Creativity Workshop and an Edible Plant Foray. We have partnered with so many amazing folks in our community!

As we begin to prepare for our winter months ahead, we may have to switch gears a bit and begin holding more events indoors, following all recommended guidelines. We may also offer more opportunities to connect online. We would love to hear your input around this.

Give us a follow on social media for the latest news and upcoming events.

Let's keep going through the colder months however we can! Community connection has been so meaningful and I would love to continue to find ways to safely connect.

Mush Love,
Kiley

Medicine Music Community Sing Along w/ Lucas De Britto
Sunday, November 21st
3:00pm-5:00pm

St. Luke's Church on the Avenue
800 W. 36th Street
Baltimore, MD 21211

Donation

Baltimore Psychedelic Society is very excited to bring you a musical event that is sure to warm your heart and lift your spirits.

We are partnering with Lucas De Britto, a Brazilian singer and guitarist, who will lead us in a wonderful selection of medicine songs and mantras. He has been working with plant medicine since 2012 and has experienced a variety of medicine circles around the world. Lucas will be offering healing songs in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Sanskrit.

A song list will be made available prior to the event, should you want to give the songs a listen and maybe even learn some of the words. We will also do our best to have printed song books available at the event, so you can easily follow along. We invite you to dance, sing, shake, move and play along with Lucas! We may even have time for a music jam/drum circle at the end!

We have been graciously offered indoor space at St. Luke's Church on the Avenue. There is ample street parking throughout the neighborhood. We will be meeting in the main church space on the first level. You can walk through the courtyard to access the side doors that will lead you to this space.
We will be following the Baltimore City local health ordinance that requires all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to be masked. We know that it's not ideal to sing with a mask on, but we are going to make it work! The church space also has ample space for us to spread out. At least we will be warm and cozy and in a beautiful space!

Please bring an instrument if you feel called to! If you have extra shakers, tambourines, etc that you wouldn't mind sharing, please feel free to bring those along as well.

THIS IS A DONATION-BASED EVENT! There are a few ways that you can contribute.

~You can make your donation through Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.com/.../medicine-music-community...)

~You can bring cash to the event.

~You can also donate directly to Lucas through Venmo @Lucas-DeBritto

Community Integration Circle
Tuesday, November 23rd
7:00-9:00pm

Online via Zoom
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84147714040

Free

You are invited to join BPS for our Integration Talking Circle.

*Please plan to arrive on time, as we will not admit anyone to the circle after 7:05pm. This helps to create a safe container for vulnerable sharing.*

We offer a compassionate, welcoming place to land following your journey. It is a safe space to join in community to dialogue about explorations, transformation, safe practice, and touching into your higher intelligence. We firmly believe that the psychedelic experience is a way to connect deeply with yourself and the Circle is a path to integrating that experience.

We resonate with Entheogenic Research Integration & Education’s definition of integration: “the process by which the material accessed and insights gained in a [psychedelic] experience are incorporated over time into one’s life in a way that benefits the individual and their community.”

Supportive guidelines will be read at the beginning of the circle to ensure we agree with them. They encourage a supportive environment and safe container for the circle.

Please note that although Zoom is a relatively private platform, total security cannot be assured. Please use your own judgment and wisdom in deciding to share. Participants will be screened before entering the Zoom space.

Interested in joining the BPS Psychedelic Book/Media Club?... Well read on:
At our last community meeting, many people endorsed the idea of starting a “Psychedelic Reading Group”. As we worked through the concept, it became clear that the group would not just focus on books/articles, but also on podcasts, videos, and other medium. The topics would certainly have a psychedelic focus, but could be wide and varied in scope…as psychedelics do pair well with many areas of interest!! Some of the ideas offered included works/talks by Terence McKenna (including his book list for psychonauts), a Tim Ferriss podcast with Richard Schwartz (Internal Family Systems), Consciousness Medicine by Francoise Bourzat, and Rainforest Medicine: Preserving Indigenous Science and Biodiversity. The specific media to review would be chosen by the group itself and organized/facilitated by its members.

This group has met a couple of times so far, but you can join any time! The media club typically meets on the last Tuesday of each month, from 7-8:30pm. Please email us if you are interested!

Community Meet & Greet
Sunday, December 5th
3:00-5:00pm

Zen Meditation Garden
3500 Parkdale Ave
Baltimore, MD 21211
Free

We would love to provide the space and opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests, make new friends and swap stories. Yes, we will try to meet outside! Let's give it a try and see how it feels. If it is raining or below 32 degrees, we will move the meeting online.

We will spend an hour as a whole group to discuss upcoming events and other ideas that folks would like to bring to the table. The rest of the time will be spent chatting, laughing & getting to know each other a little better!

We will meet at the Zen Meditation Garden in Woodberry, which is large with plenty of room to spread out. There is street parking on Parkdale Drive and Druid Park Drive.

How to find us:
Use the address 3500 Parkdale Avenue to find street parking closest to our location. From there, walk towards the paved road leading to Druid Hill park. There will be a marked trail a little further up on the left, which leads up a hill to the Zen Garden. Please message us if you have any questions about parking or finding us!

Just a friendly reminder that our events are not the place to source drugs/plant medicines/illegal substances. Let's keep our gathering spaces safe. Hope to see you all there.
