Dementia Action Day : Saturday, 20 Jun 2015 9:30am - 4pm

A day for everyone, all who wish to understand and explore what memory loss means, and how to enable support.

What are the implications for individuals, carers, families, the community and the churches - emotional, social, and spiritual?

The day will include an introduction by the Rt Revd Tim Thornton, as well as contributions from Trevor Adams from Livability and Az2B Theatre Group.

Foundation Course for Church Treasurers, Wed 8 July, Camborne Methodist Church

ACAT is the national support charity for church treasurers, we support over 12,500 church treasurers from across all denominations.  We would like to invite you to take part in a one day training event we have organised in Camborne on Wednesday, 8th July.  This Foundation Course is an introduction to all the issues a treasurer might meet.  It is aimed primarily at new and inexperienced treasurers however our feedback has been that even experienced treasurers have found the course very helpful.

Registration is from 9.30am for a 10.00am start and the day will finish by 4.00pm.  Buffet lunch will be provided.  The cost of the course is £35.00 + a small administration fee depending on how you book.
The course covers the following topics:
Legal overview – Role of the Treasurer (including any recent changes)
Accounting records and IT
Preparing the Annual Accounts
The Annual Report
Preparing annual budgets
Independent examination
Taxation issues including Gift Aid and VAT
Employment issues
