Gayundah:  On The Beach

Hello again.   You may remember a recent post showing the first stages of my  large panoramic painting of Gayundah in Newsletter No. 5

I am pleased to say that I have now finished the painting, and this is it posted above. I am very happy with how it turned out, and hope you like it also.

The photo below gives an indication of the scale of the painting.   As you can imagine it took up a lot of space in my studio.  The canvas size is 200cm x 150cm and will be the largest painting in my exhibition "The Last Fleet". It is painted in oil on stretched canvas.

The painting has been posted in the Gallery tab in my website http://www.gaylereicheltart.com and can be located in a folder called The Last Fleet.    I have also posted a blog in my website showing some of the steps that I took when producing this painting.  http://www.gaylereicheltart.com/blog

This painting will be part of an exhibition called "The Last Fleet" at the Arts Centre, Gold Coast City Gallery, 135 Bundall Road, Surfers Paradise from February 6 - March 27 2016, which is already advertised on their website.  http://www.theartscentregc.com.au/gallery/coming-soon
COMING SOON

Parking is available directly in front or in nearby side streets.

Come along with friends to the opening and enjoy the art with wine, cheese platters and live music by Rachel Schembri.

Artworks on display will include:  Paintings, Drawings Lamps and Jewellery.

CONTINUING EXHIBITION

John Reichelt's "Deep Sky" exhibition of telescopic images continues at the Arts Cafe, Gold Coast City Gallery, 135 Bundall Road, Surfers Paradise, Qld until 3rd October 2015.

Seven stunning images are beautifully presented on Face Mounted Acrylic 41cm x 60cm and all are for sale.

Helix Nebula.
Pictured above is the rear view of Face Mounted Acrylic which is a frameless presentation of photos printed on best quality metallic photo paper, face mounted or bonded to the rear of a 6mm thick high quality transparent acrylic panel using archival transparent film, and 2mm black acrylic glued to the back of the photo for protection. It is considered the Rolls Royce of photo presentation and is sometimes referred to as “float frames” as they sit off the wall and appear to be suspended in mid air about an inch from the wall.
It's appearance is much like how you would view an image on your computer screen.
SOME MORE NEW WORK

After painting Gayundah: On the Beach, I felt the need to paint a couple of smaller more spontaneous images.   The images below are both new and are Acrylic on Stretched Canvas, 92cm x 62cm

They can be located in my website in the Serendipity Series in this link:  They will be in my exhibition "Just Below the Surface"

WHAT IS ENCAUSTIC
Some of you may not be aware of what Encaustic painting is, and if you are interested in learning about  how it originated more than 2000 years ago and its relative recent history and revival, I have written a brief background in a blog that you might be interested in reading.   Below is the link to What is Enacustic in my blog.
