A look at what's new in the world of Blue Ribbon Designs...

Greetings friends, fellow needleworkers, quilters, and new subscribers ~ it's time for a Blue Ribbon Designs update...

I hope this long overdue newsletter finds you enjoying beautiful end-of-summer weather, getting some relief from the heat, and finding some quiet time to work on those late summer/early autumn projects!

I know it's been awhile since my last e-mail correspondence...and to those of you who have stuck around and are reading this - THANK YOU! {hugs} The last several years have brought some big changes to the needlework industry - changes that (whether I like it or not) have impacted the way I do business. To set the record straight - I absolutely LOVE designing cross stitch and needlework patterns and I will continue to do so, as long as there is a demand - rest assured, I am NOT going anywhere. I have, however, added additional creative avenues to supplement my income and pay my bills. Many of you know that I am an accomplished seamstress and quilter, so that seemed like the logical route. Designing sewing/quilting patterns, doing custom/freelance quilting, and returning to my roots with needlework finishing have allowed me to continue to be creative on a daily basis and keep the dream of Blue Ribbon Designs alive.

Going forward, this means you will still see
cross stitch charts and patterns from Blue Ribbon Designs - I will continue to work on designs for magazines, books, and publications...and I will still be publishing my own chartpacks/patterns (just not at a rapid pace). You will also see sewing and quilting designs...and I will continue to do custom/freelance sewing and needlework  jobs...along with adding more handmade items to my Etsy shop and the Blue Ribbon Designs website. The Blue Ribbon Designs brand has been expanding, but it still centers around my personal design style...and cross stitch will always be at the heart. I hope you will continue on this positive, creative journey with me!

As always, I continue to update my website and
blog...the only difference? - those updates include both needlework and quilting. You can keep up with Blue Ribbon Designs on most formats of social media...and you can shop for all things Blue Ribbon Designs by visiting my website and/or Etsy shop. I am easy to reach - so if you have questions or comments on anything I just shared, you know how to find me - I welcome your kind and constructive feedback!

Now that I have addressed some of the questions that have been circulating, let's get to the news for September...grab your favorite beverage or snack, then sit back, relax, and enjoy...

"Pink Positive"
My 2015 Komen 3-Day Fundraising Design

As many of you know, I am participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day this November – I'll (once again) walk 60-miles in Dallas, TX over the course of three days with my fabulous Twinkle Toes team members and hundreds of other women and men....all of us with a common goal to raise funds for breast cancer research, scientific programs and community-based breast health and education programs.

So, here is where my new pink Cross Stitch design "Pink Positive" comes into play...it is an exclusive Blue Ribbon Design, available only to those who donate a minimum of $15.00 (USD) to my fundraising page (all proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen 3-Day)...my gift to you for supporting me and this incredibly worthwhile cause.

First I will tell you how to get this very special design...please read the instructions carefully:
  1. Visit my fundraising page: http://www.the3day.org/goto/Belinda.
  2. Make a minimum donation of $15.00 or more - yes, it is tax deductible.
  3. Send me an e-mail  (designer @ blueribbondesigns.com) with "Pink Positive" in the subject line. The body of the message can be as simple as "I made a donation".
I will verify your donation and reply to your message with a PDF attachment of the design. It's that easy!

NOTE: If you are overseas and have difficulty with the Komen website or making your donation, you may send your donation to me via PayPal (same e-mail address as above) and note in the comments it is a Komen donation for "Pink Positive" and anything special you would like noted on the Fundraising Honor Roll - I will make the donation on your behalf (in your name) and send you the chart as a thank you. E-mail me for more details or with questions.

Also, please note, it is not feasible for me to sit at the computer all day and respond immediately - I kindly ask you give me 24-hours to reply to your message - I promise to respond to your e-mail as soon as possible. If you haven't heard from me within a couple days, please check your spam/junk folder (remember, this is a large quality file), then, if still needed, follow up with me. Also, this gift is only available as a PDF file via e-mail, following the instructions above - I will not be mailing printed charts.
