5 Years of Ayrshire College

This academic year marks 5 years of Ayrshire College!

We held a special dinner at our Kilmarnock Campus to celebrate, where we also got the opportunity to thank our retiring Principal, Heather Dunk OBE, for her hard work during this time.

Take a look at our special film to commemorate the past five years.
Ayrshire Bytes

Our second Ayrshire Bytes conference, #DoingDataTogether, took place on 15 March 2019.

The official fringe event of #DataFest2019 brought together employers, students, staff and data experts to explore how big data is changing business, and realise the potential of digital in Ayrshire and the west of Scotland.
Kilmarnock Football Club

Kilmarnock FC's under-18 squad will embark on Modern Apprenticeships at the College.

The 'Achieving Excellence in Sports Performance' course aims to empower the young players to help them develop their skills on and off the pitch.

This partnership programme between a professional football club and a college is the first of its kind in Scotland.

What Matters to Us?

Over 200 people from the Social Care and Early Years sector took part in a national ‘What Matters to Us?’ conference at our Kilmarnock Campus on 20 March 2019.

The event provided an opportunity for our HNC and HND students to hear from inspiring speakers and take part in topical workshops.

Thanks to our partners from Iriss, the Scottish Social Services Council, College Development Network, Early Years Scotland, the ALLIANCE, University of West of Scotland and other colleges across Scotland for their support in delivering this event.
Student Association Elections

Our students have voted for their Student President and Student Vice President of the Ayrshire College Student Association for 2019/20.

After a secret ballot of online voting, current Student Vice President Jack McCrindle has been elected as Student President, while HNC Social Sciences student Lauren Howieson has been elected as Student Vice President.

Both Jack and Lauren will take up their new posts on 1 July 2019.

Our Access to Primary Education and Humanities (SWAP) students organised the event in partnership with the Fair Play Foundation.

The event aimed to raise awareness of gender inequality in sport, and to break down any barriers of taking part in sport for the school pupils.

Over 60 children took part in a range of sporting activities, including dancing, football and hula hooping!
