AmeriCorps Hosting Opportunity

Montana colleges, universities, and their nonprofit and school partners are eligible to host direct-service AmeriCorps members (beginning in the summer of 2022) to help remove barriers to postsecondary education and build capacity to support student success.

Founded on the principles of addressing poverty (VISTA) and meeting community needs (AmeriCorps), MTCC AmeriCorps members commit to a year of public service. Similar to the domestic Peace Corps, members support initiatives like:
  • Advancing projects focused on college access and completion with career services, admissions, success, TRiO, and other offices;
  • Supporting and expanding student basic needs infrastructure, (e.g. campus food pantries, emergency housing, mental health, wellness, etc.);
  • Building infrastructure for success programs that support student belonging (e.g. clubs, groups, and societies) ;
  • Developing diversity, equity, inclusion, and access projects that support success for first-generation and minoritized students;
  • Preparing campuses to be more resilient to climate and public health crises;
  • Creating intentional partnerships with K-12. government and nonprofit sectors, and much more!
MTCC's AmeriCorps and VISTA application priority deadline: January 26th, 2022
