What's already on the Festival Calendar?
The festival calendar is continuously growing as hosts upload their events. However, you can already have a look at what's on and start signing up to events. All events are free and open to anyone to attend. The festival runs 28 February - 3 March 2022.

Here is a sneak peak of what's already in the calendar:
  • Festival Launch Event
    28 Feb @ 10am
Join us to explore what it means to navigate the incongruities and paradoxes, the light and the shade, that we face in our work and to discern together what approaches to leadership will serve us well for the work that needs doing. Speakers and Key-Listeners include John Swinney - Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Covid Recovery; Katie Kelly, East Ayrshire Council and Martin Kalungu-Banda, Presencing Institute and Oxford Business School and more.
  • Democratic Innovations: what does this mean for power-sharing leadership
    28 Feb @ 4pm

Join Oliver Escobar, Senior Lecturer in public policy at the University of Edinburgh and academic lead for democratic innovation at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, for a stimulating and provocative conversation about the current proliferation of democratic innovations in Scotland and around the world.

  • Grassroots Leadership – Growing Communities Collectively
    1 March @ 10am

Join community activist Evie Murray to learn about the Collective ‘Earth In Common’, who work on tackling a broken food system, climate change and social inequality, locally, nationally and internationally. They have created a radical action-based team on Leith Croft with community building and food growing at their core.

  • Place-based System Leadership: Police & Local Government Work in Scotland
    3 March @ 12pm

Collective Leadership for Scotland has been working with colleagues in Police Scotland and The Improvement Service to design and deliver a Pilot Collective Leadership Programme in three localities, including participants from Police Scotland, Local Councils, NHS, Fire and Rescue Service and the Voluntary sector based in the locality. Join this session to learn about these pilots and how they seek to offer a place-based, focussed learning experience on the theory and practice of Collective Leadership, including supported exploration of complex and wicked issues by participants.

Application Deadline Approaching:
Leadership & Facilitation Programme

Submit your application by midnight 23 January 2022 for the next Leadership & Facilitation Programme, which will run 15-17 February 2022. The programme is free of charge and takes place online.
As part of the development of its collective leadership offer, the Collective Leadership for Scotland team brings experienced facilitators and leaders together for this online programme to deepen their leadership and facilitation practices.
This programme will not be focussed on learning technical tools and techniques. It will be about cultivating greater insight in the use of self within the group experience, creating the conditions for groups to learn and take better action together. This programme will be best suited to those who have some experience of working with complexity and are open to reflecting on their own practice and willing to share their learning.

The application deadline to this course has been extended to 21 January 2022, with courses starting now from 11 February 2022.  This community-based warrior training for leaders is hosted and managed by Meg Wheatley and the Berkana Institute.

This form of Warrior Training is embedded in local and regional communities. It intentionally is designed to benefit individual participants, their organizations, and their local communities and regions. Over six months of working together, it develops a cohort of dedicated and sane leaders who have the skills and capacities to contribute meaningfully to the needs of their communities and organizations. Training together, they also create a community of Warriors that supports them to persevere and overcome the obstacles and challenges of leading in this difficult time.
