Market update

Chickpeas...This market has had people talking… We have seen some ridiculous numbers being thrown around in recent weeks however it has settled somewhat from the high. At these current numbers the market certainly feels top heavy and following general planting in Qld and NSW the market has come off. Full market update>

Innovation in the shed

After extensive research into different methods of innovation and automation in our industry, we took the next step and purchased a Palletiser, which was installed in April. This new state of the art piece of equipment provides automatic stacking of bags into pallets and means less labour intensive tasks for our employees in the shed. Check out this video of how the Palletiser robot works and next time your in our office, ask us for demo>

Fresh face joins the team

We are excited to welcome Damon Stirling, who joined our team recently. Damon is our new Grower Services Officer, who supports Trading through assisting with maintaining and developing relationships with our growers and customers. Damon brings a wealth of experience which includes over 10 years in rural merchandise roles including Grower Liaison, Inventory Management and Merchandise Management with Queensland Cotton and Landmark and most recently, Senior Land Liaison Officer with Arrow Energy. Damon is enjoying being back in the Ag Sector, reconnecting with so many growers. “I’m looking forward to hitting the road over the coming months, visiting growers and discussing grain and pulse marketing opportunities” Damon said.

Creditability on the world stage

Our business was proud to achieve an internationally-recognised Quality Assurance (QA) accreditation and a national HACCP food safety warranty for our continued high service and quality standards in March. The QA standard builds on the systems we already had in place, by having a systematic approach to continuous improvement of our record keeping and product specifications. Garry steps up to Branch Manager

We recently promoted Garry Young to the position of Branch Manager. Garry has been a part of the Agrifoods Australia team since 2011 in the role of Operations Manager and has extensive working knowledge of the company. Garry comes from a farming background, growing up in the Kupunn area, before performing various roles with Wesfarmers, Ridley Agriproducts, Better Blend Stockfeeds and Riverina Stockfeeds. It is fantastic to be able to provide a promotion and career development opportunity to one of our key team members.

Golf day fundraiser

We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone that supported our inaugural Agribusiness Charity Golf Day in March. With the help of local businesses and the community we were able to raise in excess of $22,000 which allowed us to purchase a special Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) freezer for the Dalby Hospital. FFP is concentrated plasma used for severe haemorrhaging, especially post-delivery major bleeds. Previously, FFP had to be rushed via police escort from Toowoomba. If you would like to be a part of our 2016 day, please give us a call so that we can make sure a spot is reserved. Read the full wrap up>
