22nd AUGUST 2021

A few notes from Malcolm (Superintendent) for week beginning 22nd August 2021

This week we welcome Deacon Irene and her family to their new home in Erdington. If you are able to assist in final preparations cleaning, tidying garden etc, please speak to Marilyn or Malcolm.

There have been no further developments regarding the Presidential Inquiry that I mentioned last week (Link below). A final draft plan for ONSITE September to November is available below. ONLINE worship will appear next week.

For those who like studying the Plan. in anticipation that the PI will take place during September, you will see I have planned Circuit Staff and other Ministers at Four Oaks until mid October. I have also made a minor alteration to the existing plan.

I apologise for the lateness in sending out this bulletin. Unfortunately, I was still needing to make changes late last evening to the preaching plan to accommodate the availability and needs of our team of Local Preachers. Whilst some preachers submitted available dates by the deadline, others for good reason were not able to do so. No congregation has got more than three Local Arrangements and many two thanks to the commitment of our preachers to go the extra mile.

Street Pastors

Erdington Street Pastors

Would like to be part of the Team?

We are now urgently in need of Street Pastors that would patrol the High Street and around schools. Full training would be provided. It is FREE for the first 20 including licensing and uniform. You need minimum of 2 -3 patrols per month and good if you can do more.

Volunteers should be over 18 (there is no upper age limit), active Christians and willing to complete 2 sets of training …virtual and 1 day in-person including sessions on Police, Community, Youth culture, drugs and homelessness. A DBS (Criminal Records Bureau Check) is required and references are obtained before joining a team of at least three/four people, each of whom will work for 3 hours together in the afternoons during the week and Saturday morning. A distinctive uniform is worn when volunteering so people know who we are.

Additionally, we are also in need of Prayer Pastors who will back up the Street Pastors while they are on the field and occasionally be in communication with them while they are on the field.

Please contact/submit your form to Jean Morton on And if you need any clarification, you can always contact any of the management committee member.

A complete service for Easter Sunday 6 with an address exploring the parable of the vine. There are prayers, a reading, songs and an address from IDEAS to make a rich visual worship experience. The service is led by Rev'd Ann Bossingham. We also thought it would be good to offer our Children's resources again a year on.
