My prayer for everyone involved in YFC-Knynsa, whether it is through prayer, financial support, our staff and volunteers: that in every opportunity we will learn, grow, deepen our faith, hopefully sharpen our discernment and grow together in the Spirit of unity.

We were so blessed to have had Trevor Sampson and his incredible team minister in one of our local communities through praise and worship and a personal testimony. When Trevor invited the young people to give their lives to the Lord and I heard the many voices praying the prayer of repentance, made me extremely excited for what lies ahead for 2022.

We also partnered with Knysna Kerk this month where we did a week of prayer in our town; praying for our schools, businesses, social services, churches, communities, etc.
 

Please pray for us as we plan to do Youth Rallies in our beautiful town, do outreaches in the Eastern and Northern Cape, minister to parents, sharing the Gospel to young and old and that no matter what we do we will do it to bring Glory and Honour to our God, because He deserves it.
 

I am really motivated by what Paul wrote to the Ephesians and I hope that we will all do this with even more passion and vigor as before and that is: to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. (Ephesians 4:1)

Thank you for your continued support towards YFC-Knysna, we know we are blessed to have partners like you, helping and enabling us to do the work to which God has called us to do. I thank you very much.

At Hands and Heart I think the biggest of all was the resignation of Garald, being with us since 2016.  Although initially a shock, this has also brought a lot of positive and good energy and vibes amongst the team.  New team members were appointed, and roles had to be clarified.  We also lost one or two volunteers, but then as always,  God is faithful and have send us a few new ones who adds valuable input going into the future.  Operational plans for the new year were finalised and the first round of learner portfolios went in for assessments.  The next few weeks will be spend preparing our existing students for graduation, and Mike has already started the recruitment and selection process for our May student intake.
 

Whilst we say good buy to ‘Uncle G’ as he was known to us all, we also wish to welcome Bev Nel who will be leading the team as Programme Manager and Marius Potgieter as Senior Technical Training Facilitator.  We are also very excited that we were able to appoint Sinethemba as part of our team.  He is one of our students from 2015, who recently qualified as carpenter when he successfully completed his trade test in George.

Meet the amazing team that will take Hands & Heart into the future (We are all very excited about this team that is passionate and committed in what they are doing and want to achieve):

Dee’s energy as Programme Lead at our KILT Afterschool Study Club also went into top gear as she welcomed back her Supervisors for yet another exciting year.  New members were added to the team and we wish them all the best bringing about change in the young lives they will be impacting during 2022.  A special word of encouragement to Susan, Lee-Roy and Nazley who will, over and above their Afterschool Study Club duties, also fulfil their new roles as Afterschool Programme Co-ordinators for the various KILT afterschool activities and programmes.

Although we still have a few challenges to overcome and changes to be made, our Hope is in Him who gives us our daily strength. I am forever grateful that all these changes and opportunities will include having all of you by my side (our faithful supporters and donors).  Your love and care for us is highly valued and appreciated.
 

Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.
