Amazing Term for ISTCI!
As we come to the end of an extremely busy term, it is with pride that I look back upon the successes of the past 4 months.
Our school is as large as it has been for the past 10 years. We have remodelled our teaching in the Grade 4-6 classes and seen huge progress from our children. As a school we have had a huge focus on raising standards in writing and the teachers have been working really hard on this and we are seeing fantastic work from the children as a result.
I love to see the school pool in daily use and the standard of our children's swimming rising. Many of our children are confident in the water and can already 'swim' however, what we hear from our teachers is that they were lacking the stamina and stroke technique for swimming as a physical discipline and we are all delighted to see that improving. The addition of the cover has made a huge difference to everyone's enjoyment of the swimming lessons so thank you very much to the PTA for that.
We have many exciting plans to look forward to in the new year, including the restructuring of the timetable and the introduction of STEM lessons to Grades 3-6 this term and rolling out to Grades 1-2 after Easter.
We are going to set a New Year's Resolution for the whole school for Healthy Eating. There will be more information coming to you on all of these items.
As you read through this newsletter, enjoy reliving the wonderful moments of the past term. Merry Christmas to you all!
Best wishes, Katie Hinks
