Great start for ISTCI!

What a wonderful start we have had to the new school year!

We have welcomed 149 children into our school from our Nursery through to Grade 6 (children 9 months - 11 years).  More than 50 of these children are new to the school.  This is the highest number we have had on roll for nearly ten years.

We now have children and staff from over 20 different nations and so we can truly call ourselves an international school!

We have had a number of improvements made to the school grounds over the course of the summer break:  the playground has been resurfaced, one wing has a new roof, our pool area has had a shaded area built, our Preschool has had an additional outdoor area added to its classroom space and all classrooms have been painted and have new resources.

As with so much, we have to say thank you to, our partners at WIHL and also to our PTA and our staff for making all of this possible.

ISTCI 30th Anniversary

1986 to 2016 – 30 years of educational success and inspiration

This academic year the International School of the TCI celebrates its 30th year of educating the youth of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

To commemorate this wonderful occasion, we had a delicious BBQ prepared by The Beach House on Thursday September 29th to celebrate with students, teachers, families and alumni.   Special 30th t-shirts were worn by students, staff, family and friends.

Mr. David Bowen joined us for fun and games! The children wore their house colours with pride and enjoyed the fun competitions, running races, balloon games and tug of war!

ISTCI Graduation

Looking back at Graduation 2016!

Students, well-wishers, family members, teachers and friends enjoyed a very special celebration and a look back on a wonderful year at the International School Graduation 2016.

The graduation ceremony was a special event for our Grade 6, and some Grade 5, students as they started a new chapter of their lives at 'big school'.  It was wonderful to hear from our student speakers as they gave touching speeches about their primary school years.

School Council Launched

A school council is a representative group of pupils elected by their peers to represent their views and raise issues with the teachers of the school and help organise school activities.

We hope that the following children will enjoy participating as a school council member and find it a rewarding and challenging experience.
Grade 3 - Wyatt Pollon ad Cassie Williams
Grade 4 - Tom Phillips and Gabby Bruton
Grade 5 - Ariah Lee and Samuel French
Grade 6 - Chloe Turner and Hayden Williams

School councils can help the children  to enjoy and feel empowered by their education, feel that their school responds to their needs, have a say about decisions and to play an active role in making their school a better place.

Week of the Young Child

The ‘Week of the Young Child TCI 2016’ was awesome!

The Ministry and Department of Education join with the many Early Childhood Centres and Schools across the Turks and Caicos Islands in recognition of the ‘Week of the Young Child'.

Annually the International School creates even more stimulating and educational activities for this special week. This year the EYFS (Early Years and Foundation Stage) teachers of the International School created fabulous array of activities for the children all week such as reading, writing and creative play activities to celebrate the week of the young child.
