As a sign of solidarity with Ukraine, I have spent the last two weeks researching buildings and structures in Ukraine in order to enter them into Structurae or to improve and update the existing entries.
In addition to the inconceivable human suffering, this war is also inflicting severe damage on the country's infrastructure and architecture. Ukraine can look back on at least one thousand years of architectural history. Some of it has already been destroyed and many other buildings are under threat of damage or complete destruction by the ongoing acts of war.
With this newsletter I have compiled a small selection of the currently about 280 Ukrainian structures listed in Structurae, which, I hope, will give you an impression of the architectural diversity of the country.
