Connecting the Dots

Hello! Sam here with a special edition of Connecting the Dots newsletter.

Have you ever wondered how far you could push your mind, if you really wanted to? Is there something holding you back? Why does thinking about things feel like hard work?

I've been trying to answer these questions for a while now, and I've finally put the work down in words.

The result, The Will to Think, is now available as both an ebook and an article on Medium.

Why both?

I wanted to make the information available to everyone. There are advantages to the ebook—you can read it offline on your devices, there are also a couple of extra sections, and you would be helping to support my writing. If you can afford to (it's $2.99), I hope you'll consider this route.

But getting the information out there and getting more people to think about thinking is the goal. If you want to understand the nature of mental effort, I don't want a price tag to stop you.

The choice is yours. Here's the link to the ebook, which contains pdf, epub, and mobi files. And here's the link to the Medium article.

Over the coming weeks I'll also be preparing a print version and an audiobook. Stay tuned for them.

And if you enjoy reading it, share it around so other people might also enjoy it.

Cheers,
Sam

Would life be better if we enjoyed exerting effort? Is the mind like a muscle in that working it out will come with added benefits later on? Is there a limited resource? Why don’t we think about more?

Put your thinking cap on and find out where the limits of your mental muscle are.
