Polystyrene Ban Starts this Thursday!

The City of Cambridge will prohibit the use of single-use disposable polystyrene food containers at Food and Beverage Establishments beginning October 20, 2016.

Cambridge businesses and establishments that routinely serve food/beverage to the public will no longer be able to serve food or beverage in single use disposable polystyrene containers. A few examples of the polystyrene products prohibited are: hot cups, cold cups, cup lids, hinged or lidded food service containers, and other food-service products. Upcoming Events

This fall, the Cambridge Historical Society presents 3 conversations about the past, present, and future of affordable housing in Cambridge. The question, 'Housing for All?' will be posed to knowledgeable experts and to Cantabrigians like you. Bring your stories and questions to the conversations. The next event is on October 27th and the final conversation is on November 17th. 
The Cambridge Women's Commission is hosting a discussion and Q+A October 19th from 7PM - 8PM with Kathleen Cash, author of Sex, Shame, & Violence: A Revolutionary Practice of Public Storytelling in Poor Communities at the Cambridge Library Main Branch at 344 Broadway. CLF Member Erika Salloux of Living Harmony recorded two episodes of the Keeping You Organized Podcast by Smead Manufacturing. The first episode is titled "Tips for Being a Productive Entrepreneur" and covers everything from projects to customer relations. The second is "How to Set and Keep Boundaries", which can help you find balance and control the chaos.
