Dear <<First Name>>,

The news this month is about sending Never Again out into the world.

A few weeks ago I was hiking in the mountains with my friend Christine Gust. Golden aspens, blue sky. As we conversed, I asked her, “Why am I spending so much energy marketing this book? I’d rather be writing. What do I really want?” She drew me out, and the answers came. Money would be nice, but that was never my motivation for writing. Of course I would love accolades, but that is an ego trip, and an ego trip is never a good reason for action. Finally what emerged is that what I want most is to share my story. I believe Never Again has an important message for our youth-obsessed culture.

The elderly, most of all, need to hear that message to help us in being grateful for our lives and accepting of our aches and limitations. So I am planning to give workshops in senior centers and retirement homes. I have one booked in the Longmont Senior Center next spring. I have been writing the description for their newsletter and find I am quite excited about doing it. I will share Clara’s story up to the point where she has a choice to stay young or return to her old body, then lead a discussion around the question, “What would you choose?”

Bookstores & Libraries

I have been visiting bookstores and libraries. Never Again is now available at the Boulder Bookstore, The Tattered Cover in Denver, and three bookstores in Longmont: Barbed Wire Books, The Emporium, and Local Editions.

And you can also find it online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Barking Rain Press.

It is available at the Boulder Public Library and the Longmont Public Library. I am continuing to contact libraries as a book in a library can be read by many.

Social Media

Social media continues to be a challenge for me. I persist, aided by my assistant Amanda Aguilera. You can find me on FaceBook, LinkedIn, TwitterBarking Rain Press, and my Amazon Author Page. I am working away on getting on Google + and Goodreads.

Upcoming Events

The way I most enjoy promoting my book is by talking to people face to face—a wild concept in this day and age. So I do have some events coming up in which I can do that. I would be delighted to see you at one of these events. More may be scheduled in the future

December 9, 2015; 6:30 to 8pm
A talk and book signing at Local Editions, 2919 17th Ave., Suite 110,  Longmont CO

December 12, 2015; 9am to 3pm
A book fair at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, sponsored by Local Editions.

March 14, 2016; 9:30-11am
Discussion: What Would You Choose?  The Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Drive, Longmont CO.

A Request

Perhaps by now, some of you have read Never Again. If you have, and if you liked it, I would much appreciate it if you would give me a short review on Amazon. (Scroll to the bottom of the page to the comment section.)

Work on my other projects has been on hold as I work on these endeavors. I hope to get back soon to work on Song of Eliria, and The Purest Gold.  I have put up a couple of posts on my blog about aging and death, and most recently All Hallows.

I send you all my best wishes.

Heather
