By-election for New Mayor

Richmond Hill Council voted to proceed with a By-election for the vacant Mayor’s position, following the retirement of former Mayor Dave Barrow. The By-election will be held January 24, 2022. The City of Richmond Hill will begin accepting nominations for Mayor on Friday, October 15. The nomination deadline is 2 p.m. on Friday, December 10. 

Leaf-ing into Fall

Weekly yard waste collection begins this week and runs until the first week of December. Yard waste is collected on your regular collection day and includes leaves, pine cones, fallen fruit, tree clippings, shrub trimmings, pumpkins, clean straw, dried corn stalks, twigs and branches. Soil, sod and grass clippings are not accepted.

City Offices Reopen for Select In-Person Services

On September 20, we opened our doors for select in-person services at both the main Municipal Offices and the Operations Centre. For speed and convenience, residents are still encouraged to use the City’s wide range of online service options.
