This week is a little different to past fortnights.
I have been working on an analysis of Australian early-stage funding activity for founders over the past 5 weeks and the first piece is ready!
In summary, I discovered that very early-stage funding is getting harder to obtain but funding round sizes have increased dramatically (100%+). Median transaction sizes are: Pre-seed $100k, Seed $1.5m, Series A $8m and Series B $8m.
In addition, startups raise new funding every 18 months to 2 years with the average age of a company at a Seed round of 2.2 years old.
