TB Europe Coalition launches TBpeople

20 June 2016 – Bratislava, Slovakia – The TB Europe Coalition, in collaboration with and with support from the Stop TB Partnership launched TBpeople, the Eastern European and Central Asian network of people with experience of TB. The new network aims to put people affected by tuberculosis (TB) at the heart of decision-making in the fight against TB across Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA)..

How to involve Parliamentarians in efforts to end tuberculosis was the topic of a webinar organized by the International Charitable Foundation ‘Public Health Alliance’ on the 13th of June.

The webinar was conducted within the framework of the TB-REP project, whose partner the Alliance is on behalf of the TB European Coalition.

Survey Conducted in Tajikistan to Assess Current Status of Outpatient TB Treatment Model

A cycle of interviews were conducted to assess the current situation with the outpatient TB treatment model and barriers to its implementation in 4 pilot districts of Tajikistan this late May – early June. The study was carried out by the social organization “Young Generation of Tajikistan” within the framework of the TB-REP project.

Respondents to the survey included patients, their family members, TB doctors and nurses engaged in Directly Observed Treatment Short-Courses (DOTS), primary care doctors and nurses, religious leaders of local communities “Mahalla” and local residents.

Таджикистан изучает текущую ситуацию с амбулаторной моделью лечения ТБ

Цикл интервью для изучения текущей ситуации с амбулаторной моделью лечения ТБ и барьерами на пути её внедрения был проведён в 4-х пилотных районах Таджикистана в конце мая – начале июня. Исследования провела общественная организация «Молодое поколение Таджикистана» в рамках проекта TB-REP.

В опросе приняли участие пациенты, члены их семей, фтизиатры и медицинские сёстры, обслуживающие краткосрочные курсы противотуберкулёзной терапии под прямым наблюдением (ДОТС), врачи и медсёстры первичной медицинской сети, религиозные лидеры местных сообществ “Mahalla” и местные жители.
