Yasher koach to the nearly 100 people who came out to support RCCS this past Monday night, particularly organizers Emunah & Ron Sohn and planning committee members Barbara and Michael Rubin and Shari and Mark Bloomberg. It was an incredibly powerful evening that iyH did much to support those in desperate need of a refuah sheleimah and rachamei shamayim, while simultaneously enhancing ahavas Yisrael during this difficult period of Bein Hametzarim.
Stop Iran! - Please continue to learn, do extra mitzvos and spend a few moments during davening arousing Hashem's mercy in protecting Israel and the world from a nuclear Iran. The more details that emerge about the agreement, the more deeply troubling it seems to be.
Earlier this week, as thousands rallied in Times Square, Congress received confidential briefings from three cabinet secretaries and held open hearings on the dangerous Iran agreement the next day. Following a previously-scheduled work-related meeting in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, I joined rabbinic colleagues from New York and New Jersey on Capitol Hill in lobbying Senators Booker and Menenedez and Rep. Sires to oppose the agreement when it comes up for a vote in Congress in mid-September. Senator Menendez has already strongly stated his staunch opposition to the agreement. Senator Booker is studying it very carefully but remains interested in learning more about the details and nuances and has not yet expressed his position on the agreement. On the House side, Rep. Sires met with Israeli Ambassador Dermer on Thursday morning but has yet to publicly state his position on the issue. As they review the agreement, it's critical that Members of Congress, especially Senator Booker, Rep. Sires and Rep. Payne Jr. as well as Senator Schumer of New York hear our voices. Please contact our Senators and US Representatives and encourage them to vote against the "Iran Deal."
