This erev Shabbos, Parshas Haazinu, neiros should be lit by 6:31pm followed by mincha at 6:41pm. Please remember to repeat kerias shema after 7:29pm.

Kiddush is sponsored by Nomi & Bennett Ruda and will follow a siyum by Bennett in commemoration of the yerzteit of his father, Yosef ben Yaakov, on Shabbos.

Rabbi Avraham Preil's shiur at 5:30pm is entitled, "Sukkos: What Are We So Happy About?"

Mincha will begin at 6:15pm followed by shalosh seudos, during which we will continue the 7th perek of mishnayos Brachos and discuss another great question from Rav Yitzchak Zilberstein. Maariv will begin and Shabbos will end at 7:33.

Yasher Kochachem!

Reflecting on the Yamim Noraim before Sukkos make them feel like a distant memory, we express our sincere hakaras hatov to everyone who helped make the yomim tovim so meaningful and inspiring. Thank you to our baalei tefilah, Rabbi Ari Glazer and Mordechai Dombroff, whose passion, beautiful nigunim and nusach surely carried our tefilos directly to the kisei hakavod. As our new baal tokea, Mark Bloomberg, stood at the bimah and blew the last of his extraordinary tekios for this season, the sense of achdus and recommitment to our avodas Hashem was palpable. Thank you to the seating committee, Steve Schnipper and Art Weinstein, for the dozens of hours they spent planning, reorganizing the shul (over and over) as they gracefully accommodated seating requests that grew by the hour right up until Kol Nidrei. B"H, our shul was packed to capacity but they, along with our gabbaim, Jacob Gielchinsky, Shlomo Lieberman and Tzvi Schlissel,  and our baal koreh, Moshe Korbman, kept our davening running seamlessly. Thank you, as well, to the babysitters who cared for our children so that their parents could daven for them with peace of mind while the rest of us enjoyed the same environment befitting a beis keneses that we are proud of throughout the year.  Thank you once again to Annette & Dr. Jacob Gielchinsky for sponsoring last week's Shabbos Shuva drasha in commemoration of the recent 1st yerzeit of Jacob's brother, Avraham Tzvi ben Menachem Aryeh. Finally, yasher koach to each of you whose presence and participation made our tefilos together so special and uplifting. לשנה הבאה בירושלים!

Yasher koach to all the volunteers who helped build the EHM Sukkah this past Sunday morning, including Moishe Pasternak, Bennett Ruda, Andy Schnipper and Steve Schnipper. We look forward to spending time in it over Sukkos!

Mazal Tov!

Mazal tov to Barbara & Michael Rubin and Miriam & Marty Knecht on the birth of a grandson to their children, Sima & Dani. The Shalom Zachor will be held this evening at the Rubin home, 1127 Kipling Road.

Kol Nidrei Appeal

This year’s Kol Nidrei appeal was dedicated to an exciting new construction project our shul will iy"H be undertaking, with your help. We will be adding a staircase to the basement that will be safe for everyone to use in the front of the building. The staircase will lead to a larger coatroom for us to use in the winter while we reframe the basement steps in the back of the building so that it’s accessible from the women’s side/back of the shul as well. We will also reorganize the basement and frame out classrooms where we can hold extra shiurim, youth programs, as well as appropriate storage facilities for the medical and baby gemach. This will allow us to accommodate more types of programming for adults and children and will also enable us to have more than one thing going on in this building at a time.Every dollar we receive will be matched by a generous gift up to $11,000 so PLEASE give generously – not only as a זכות this יום כיפור but as we build for the future. To redeem your pledge or to make a new donation, please click here and note that your donation is for the Yom Kippur Kol Nidrei appeal. We look forward to updating you on our progress in the weeks ahead.
