Update on the Shaping the future of health and care engagement
Dear Town and Parish Council Colleagues,
Cornwall Council and NHS Kernow are continuing to work with the Council of the Isles of Scilly and key health partners to bring all organisations responsible for health and social care services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly closer together. The objective is to improve the health and wellbeing of residents and provide seamless health services.
To help achieve our objective, we conducted an engagement exercise across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to understand the key health and care priorities of the public and staff who deliver those services to help shape and refine our vision for the future.
The findings from this engagement will serve two purposes, firstly to inform the development of Cornwall’s Sustainability and Transformation Plan, and secondly, to inform the longer term and generational changes that we will progress jointly as a system through Devolution.
The full report and a one page info-graphic, summarising the headlines from this engagement, are available for your reference and wider distribution through your communication networks.
If you would like to provide a response to the report, on behalf of your town or parish council to reflect on how these findings align to your local strategies and plans, please email your response to shapethefuture@cornwall.gov.uk by Thursday 30 June.
This information will help us to establish next steps for developing a greater understanding of the desires, needs and the barriers to delivering improvements in health and social are from the perspective of the individuals your organisation represents.
Responses will be published for reference alongside the report on our webpage: www.cornwall.gov.uk/shapethefuture
Kind regards,
Cllr Jim McKenna Dr Iain Chorlton
