In order to participate, just visit our Three Rooms Press online store, choose any book for purchase, and we'll take care of the rest.

Charles Bukowski and Neeli Cherkovski

A lifelong friendship and creative collaboration

Neeli Cherkovski met Charles Bukowski when he was fifteen years old and Bukowski was already into his forties. Things didn't go very well. After hearing from a mutual friend about how much Neeli worshipped his work, Bukowski visited him at his parents' house where the frightened boy could only pretend to be asleep. 10th Annual Bukowski Memorial Reading

Celebrate the start of the new year with the 10th annual Charles Bukowski Memorial Reading, Friday Jan. 13, 2016, 6pm at Cornelia St. Cafe. The event features performances of Bukowski poems and tales by a unique cast of hardcore fans including Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis, Famed monologist Mike Daisey, playwright/novelist Richard Vetere (Champagne and Cocaine), playwright Michael Puzzo (Spirits of Exit Eleven), and poet Puma Perl (Retrograde), plus a special presentation by Bukowski memoirist Neeli Cherkovski. What would Buk think of ISIS? police brutality? Donald Trump? So much seems to have changed since his time, but has it really? Doors open at 5:45 (for best seating—arrive early!). Admission $15, includes (naturally) a free drink! READ MORE
