Dear Cluster Coordinators and Information Managers,
Welcome to the second quarterly operational support update of 2022. This update provides a selection of links to the planned GWC operational support events in the second quarter of 2022 as well as links to previously conducted events and other resources useful for National Coordination Platforms (NCPs). Note that we will share materials from the National WASH Coordination Workshop that was conducted between 28-30 March 2022 in the coming weeks.
At the end of the quarterly update, there is a reminder on how NCPs can solicit bilateral support for coordination activities through deployment or remote support of the Field Support Team (FST) and the Cluster Advocacy and Support Team (CAST). In Q2 of 2022, the following events are being planned:

REQUESTING OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FROM THE FST
The Field Support Team (FST) is the principal means for the Global WASH Cluster to provide operational support to NCPs. The FST has provided surge support via a partner consortium to NCPs since 2008. The current FST consortium is led by ACF and includes Oxfam GB, NCA, iMMAP, and IMPACT Initiatives. Read more on the FST here, and in the FST Flyer for NCCs and IMOs.
Remote Support
Remote support tends to be short, task-based operational support. In order to have greater accountability and capacity to monitor remote support, the GWC would like to continue a light process for requesting support. To make a remote support request please email the request to gwchelp@unicef.org and provide the following information:
The request will be clarified by GWC through an email or call, if necessary, and then allocated to an FST to follow up with the requesting platform.
Deployment Support
Deployment (or Virtual Deployment) support is when an FST member is dedicated to a coordination platform at the national or sub-national level. Deployment duration depends upon the work required but is up to two months with the possibility to extend to a third month with reasonable justification. Two key documents drive any deployment, a Standby Partner Request (SBP Request) and a Terms of Reference (ToR). To organize deployment support and/or virtual deployment support please refer to Operational Support pages of GWC website and/or send an inquiry to gwchelp@unicef.org.
Best regards,
The Cluster Advocacy and Support Team (CAST)
