This year, we recommend the key events listed below:
- Global Handwashing Day - Accelerating Hand Hygiene Through Government Leadership: Join UNICEF and the Global Handwashing Partnership on October 15 at 3PM CET for an interactive global event to launch the first State of the World's Hand Hygiene report and celebrate Global Handwashing Day. The Report captures the current best understanding of hand hygiene - the successes, challenges, and opportunities - and the event focuses on how government leadership takes those issues forward. With less than a decade until the end of the SDGs, the global hand hygiene sector needs to quadruple its efforts - come learn how governments are demonstrating their leadership. Register here.
- National events: Keep an eye out for national events to celebrate Global Handwashing Day near you!
The Global Handwashing Partnership has also provided several resources on the Global Handwashing Day website, including a social media pack, infographic and online forum for partners to use, share or cross-post their efforts. See also the Fact sheet 2021 which explains the research and rationale behind this year's theme, "Our Future is at Hand – Let's Move Forward Together!". We invite all to use the evidence provided to take action this Global Handwashing Day!
