Confirmed details on designers for the HighBall Halloween 2016 Battelle Costume Couture Fashion Show and programming for Friday’s HB: On The Rocks and Saturday’s HB: High Fashion are included below.

THE BATTELLE COSTUME COUTURE FASHION SHOW
Designers are chosen through a rigorous selection process and are recruited year-round. Dozens apply, but only eight individuals or teams of two are selected to compete. HighBall Halloween Designers span various points in their careers and experience levels. From students of regional fashion schools, to veteran theatrical costume designers, to creative and highly established design professionals, the range of talent grows and changes with each year. This year’s Battelle Costume Couture Designers are listed below. See their designs at HB: High Fashion on Saturday, October 21 on the Schweppes Stage.

Horst & Ms. Steamy
Horst is a world-renowned felter that began his trade in the Fall of 2001. Since the beginning, he has revolutionized this centuries-old craft by incorporating new processes with a keen sense of color and form. Ms. Steamy, wife of Horst, has always had her pencil to the paper, designing all manner of clothing, and has spent countless hours designing complex garments. Together, this dynamic duo combine the intricacies of fabric with bold wool embellishments, making dresses unlike the world has ever seen.
Shiree Houf
Shiree Houf is a freelance costume designer, window display artist, and stylist. She earned an MFA in Design at The Ohio State University and a BA in Theatre from Miami University. She is passionate about using her theatrical background to create unique and entertaining moments onstage. In 2014, Houf, with her design partner, placed first at the Battelle Costume Couture Fashion Show.
Que Jones
Que Jones is a Columbus-based designer who uses the over-the-top nature of drag queens to fuel his designs. Gretta Goodbottom, Jones’ drag alter ego, is a colorful, eccentric, whimsical, and fierce queen who uses the influence of pop culture to create one-of-a-kind looks. HighBall Halloween was his first professional fashion show, and he has had the bug for shows ever since.
Edina Ndebele
Edina Ndebele was born and raised in Zimbabwe, where she graduated from college in 2006 with a degree in fashion design. In the U.S., Ndebele has showcased her award-winning designs at the New York Africa Fashion Week (Jul. 2011), Virgin Islands Fashion Week (Oct. 2011), and Louisville Waterfront Fashion Week (2012). Her designs often pay homage to her home country of Zimbabwe and the struggles she witnessed at home. Ndebele was moved to inspire and change people’s lives, and she continues to do so through fashion.
Ryan Richmond
Ryan Richmond has always had an extreme interest in design, whether fashion, graphic, architecture, or illustrative. In 2011, Richmond received a BA in fashion design from Columbus College of Art & Design and has since worked for Abercrombie & Fitch and Lane Bryant. In 2012, Richmond took first place at the HighBall Halloween Costume Couture Show. He has also participated with a team in Product Runway. His team’s work is currently on display at The Center for Architecture and Design in downtown Columbus.
Juan José Saenz-Ferreyros
Peruvian fashion designer Juan José Saenz-Ferreyros owns the brand Ferreyros Couture. He attended Chio Lecca Fashion School in Lima, Peru, continuing his studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Saenz-Ferreyros has created custom-designed clothing for both pageant contestants and stars, including Miss Colombia Universe, Miss Peru USA, and many others. He has mounted runway shows in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. He has also taught modeling at John Casabalanca’s international modeling school in Colombia and privately in New York.
Barbara Wallace
Barbara Wallace is a graduate of Columbus College of Art & Design with a BFA in fashion design. She has worked as an accessories designer for Bath & Body Works and Life is Good. A veteran HighBall Halloween designer, she competed in the Battelle Costume Couture Fashion Show before moving out of state in 2011. She owns her own business, Black Cat Made, designing competition suits for bodybuilders. She is inspired by costumes, glitz, and glamour, and incorporates metallic materials, crystals, and her artistic sense into her work.
Hanna Rose
Hanna Rose is equal parts London, Englander and Midwesterner. Born in Detroit and raised in Columbus, she studied fashion in London, at UCA Epsom, ranking 17th in the world for fashion design. This mix of middle America and capital living is prevalent in her fashion, bringing a modern slant to traditional techniques, through complex fabric work and contemporary design. Having recently moved back to Columbus, she’s a technical designer for a leading fashion brand, and in her own time she’s a forward-thinking contemporary women’s wear designer.

Headliner Robert DeLong, with a local band lineup, will hit the HighBall Halloween stage for electrifying performances including mixed sets of original songs and David Bowie covers.

Come to HB: On The Rocks dressed as your favorite Bowie era, whether the iconic Ziggy Stardust, mystically-inspired Jareth the Goblin King, or the cabaret classic Thin White Duke. The night begins with the Stardust Happy Hour, where attendees get free admission to HighBall Halloween. Get your chance to be on the HighBall Halloween stage as we close out the night with the Bowie Public Costume Contest. In between, see some of the most amazing stage and street performances HighBall Halloween has ever seen. If being on stage is your thing, look forward to HB: On The Rocks David Bowie karaoke presented by Kaufman Development on Friday night.

PERFORMERS
Headlining HB: On the Rocks is electronic dance-pop sensation Robert DeLong. Originally from Washington state, DeLong hails from Colorado in a one-man outfit that takes inspiration from the genres of house, dubstep, and moombahton. His most recent album, In the Cards, was released in late 2015 alongside the single “Don’t Wait Up.”

In a recent review, USA TODAY says of the musician, “Give him a mic, some drums, and a potpourri of video-game controllers, and Robert DeLong has all he needs for an explosive dance party.”

Our sensational hosts, Monica Day and Nina West will stun the crowd with their best versions of David Bowie glam.

Fabulous Johnson Brothers is a high-energy ensemble that draws inspiration from disco, soul, and motown in addition to modern-day pop and doo-wop. Their lineup includes a multi-instrumental mix of driving guitars, bold vocals, and a powerful horn section. Attendees will rock out to an unforgettable all Bowie set.

Damn The Witch Siren is an electro-pop, 80s-inspired duo based in Columbus. Known for their live performances, their shows are filled with “choreographed dance moves, seizure-inducing visuals, and a buzzing cacophony of 8-bit arpeggios and blunt electronic beats” (614 Magazine).
