Short North Arts District, Columbus, Ohio - The Short North Alliance is excited to announce the 2015 theme for HighBall: On The Rocks is MICHAEL JACKSON. Grab a fab leather jacket and moonwalk to HighBall: On The Rocks to hear bands cover your favorite songs by the King of Pop.
Headlining HighBall: On The Rocks MICHAEL JACKSON is Who's Bad, the ultimate Michael Jackson tribute band. Thrilling fans for over a decade, Who's Bad has celebrated his iconic 20+ years of music in over 1,000 power-packed performances all over the world. Formed in Chapel Hill, NC, in 2004, they are the longest-running Michael Jackson Tribute band, and the only one to pre-date his untimely passing. Who's Bad's team of dancers have shared stages with Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Boyz II Men, The Backstreet Boys, and Pitbull. In December 2010, Who's Bad sold out London's O2 Arena, the venue where Jackson was slated to end his career with This Is It, a 50-show concert series.

On Friday, HighBall: On The Rocks MICHAEL JACKSON is our annual tribute concert honoring fabulous fashion. HighBall: On The Rocks MICHAEL JACKSON features regional bands and national headliners performing original and cover songs that pay homage to artists or genres of music that have inspired fashion and design throughout the ages.
Joining Who's Bad on Friday night at HighBall: On The Rocks MICHAEL JACKSON are Columbus favorites The Floorwalkers and Angela Perley & The Howlin' Moons. HighBall veterans MojoFlo will get the party started on Saturday, followed by local power pop band and HighBall newcomers The Girls!.
CD102.5 will be DJing live from 6:00PM-8:00PM Friday night and 5:00PM-7:00PM Saturday night. There will also be DJs performing between sets both nights.
On Friday, HighBallers dressed in their Michael Jackson best can enter costume contests honoring the King of Pop. The best public costume contest in the nation will again grace the stage on Saturday night as HighBallers show off their most creative HighBall looks.

ABOUT THE ACTS
Friends since childhood, Cleveland natives The Floorwalkers relocated to Columbus in 2007 and quickly garnered a large local following. They have been voted Best Band by (614) Magazine readers four times and released their sophomore album, Kids, Are You Listening? in April 2015. Fusing the energy of a jam band with a diverse sound that ranges from soul and blues to funk and rock ‘n’ roll, The Floorwalkers' magnetic presence will put you in the mood to party on High Street the moment the take the stage at HighBall: On The Rocks MICHAEL JACKSON.
Angela Perley & The Howlin' Moons formed in 2009 and have been playing their ferocious brand of roadhouse Americana rock around Ohio ever since. Voted Best Local Band in 2015 by Columbus alive! readers, the band shows no sign of slowing down while they book more shows and work on their second album. At HighBall: On The Rocks MICHAEL JACKSON, Angela Perley & The Howlin' Moons will get your hands clapping and your feet stomping to their fierce roots-rock sound and raw energy.
When a group of Capital University students turned their jam sessions into a band in 2008, MojoFlo began in earnest. Now a city staple at bars and festivals in and around Columbus (including HighBall), MojoFlo offers a unique and eclectic mix of funk, soul, rock, R&B, jazz, blues, and hip-hop that will help you put some groove into your Saturday night moves.
Columbus-based band The Girls! formed in 2011 while its members were all in between bands and playing their songs for each other. Led by singer and guitarist Jessica Wabbit, sister of Lydia Loveless, The Girls! music is as honest as it is catchy. Wabbit and crew's acerbic lyrics and energetic rhythm will keep you dancing well into the night at HighBall.
HighBall is the nation's fiercest costume party. Staged in the fashion capital of Columbus, this yearly event for the Halloween season bridges runway style with the culture of the Short North Arts District.

Proceeds from HighBall go to support the Short North Alliance (SNA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving both the property owners and business owners of the Short North Arts District.
HighBall helps to underwrite the programs and activities of the Short North Alliance, including: clean and safe initiatives, promotions, holiday campaigns, public art installations, and parking management.
Additionally, numerous groups receive stipends to further their good works in return for their support of HighBall.
