This month we're celebrating some brilliant fundraising achievements, looking ahead to some exciting activities and welcoming a key member of staff to our team!

A very warm welcome to Fiona, our newly appointed Head of School

Fiona is a qualified teacher with twenty five years’ experience working in a variety of educational settings including: Primary, Secondary, FE, alternative provision (PRU), both in mainstream and SEN. She is educated to Masters level degree. Fiona has taught pupils of all ages with a range of disabilities and some with extreme challenging behaviour including SEMH, ADHD, ASD, Down's Syndrome, cerebral palsy etc., In her last role as Deputy Head she was instrumental in raising standards from requires improvement to good, reducing staff turnover, tripling pupil numbers and the opening of a new primary provision, described by OFSTED as ‘providing pupils with a good quality of education’ During this time she led on the design of a new contextualised and vocational curriculum to better meet the needs of pupils, their achievements and outcomes across both schools.

We had a fantastic day on Saturday 18 September doing our NICE car parking for the Edgbaston cricket attendees. We raised a spectacular £1,600 from the day, thanks to our helpful and reliable volunteers; Ranjit, Gayle, Alex, Alan, Theresa and Matt.

The Conductive College will be running a CPD training course in Conductive Education starting in October. Sessions will be run on Zoom at 2 different times each week to suit all time zones. Please click here to access the course schedule and information about how to sign up.

We invite you to join us for our 10k run on Sunday 31 October 2021. If you are not familiar with the run, our runners set off from the NICE car park around 9:40am and run the scenic route around Cannon Hill Park.

When runners have finished, they make their way back to NICE for our prize giving ceremony, raffle and not forgetting our wonderful tea & cake stall!

Times are still tough as we try to recover from the impact of the pandemic. Funding is scarce and each day we are desperate to secure the income we need to deliver our services. We will be so grateful to anyone who is able to sign up to join this event and help us raise vital funds

Don't forget, we're still looking for volunteers to help out at our NICE Charity 10k! Can you come along? Get in touch with Annie if you're interested. There's all sorts from registration support, to giving out water to runners and helping with refreshments. Plenty of fun ways to get involved!

Thank you so much to Overbury for supporting our charity once again! Overbury hosted a networking evening at The Grand Hotel and donated the proceeds from the event to NICE, raising an amazing £1,500 for our services. Just days until Billy runs the London Marathon for NICE!
