This month we are saying our farewells to Nicky, who has spent over a quarter of a century at NICE. You'll also be finding out what we've got up to during Conductive Education Awareness Week. Oh, and (naturally) a chance to be on a jury for the evening is on offer!
We are all experiencing mixed emotions as Nicky's retirement draws nearer and nearer. Nicky has given boundless time and energy to Adult Services, working as Administrator for this department. As you'll see from the photo though, there were no limits to her helping hands at NICE! Over and above with everything, Nicky has been the stalwart welcoming face, listening ear and in many cases has become a friend to many adults who have come to NICE through the years.

Nicky's blog post sharing anecdotes from over the years and the endless impact of Conductive Education is not one to miss.

Go blue for Conductive Education Awareness Week! This is one of the most important times of our year. It's a chance to not only raise awareness of Conductive Education across the UK, but a way to recognise all the conductors, participants, pupils and families who attend NICE.

We weren't surprised to see conductors continuing to see the 'can do' in everything - right down to the fact that their blue wigs matched their blue visors!
The Conductive College still has places available for this September, if you or someone you know wishes to train to become a Conductor please take a read. Children and adults with disabilities have really suffered throughout this pandemic and through this training you can really make a difference to the lives of them and their families. YOUR opportunity to be a juror! That's right. Immerse yourself in this profoundly true-to-life experience of being on a jury. This takes you straight in with the fascinating discussions about the trial. Ever wondered how you'd prepare and react if you were a juror, presented with that question, GUILTY or NOT GUILTY?

Your chance to find out - and raise funds for NICE by joining in!

Magician Paul Fowler wowed us all through our screens last night with our virtual magic show. From completing a Rubik's Cube with his eyes closed to mindreading, Paul blew us all away with his magic. Thank you very much to Irwin Mitchell for sponsoring this event and helping NICE raise an amazing £190 from the show.
Absolutely massive thanks goes to Aniko, one of our conductors, and Tatiana, one of the parents in Red Boots School, who have each held a Birthday Fundraiser on Facebook this month. Combined, they have raised £245 for NICE! Just amazing. That will be a great help towards helping us continue funding our transformational services. Big thank you to those who have pledged to do one of these for us this year.

If you feel you could do a Facebook Birthday Fundraiser then we'd be ever so grateful!
It's raffle time! Just £2.50 a ticket and you're in with a chance to win one of these great prizes. After starting the year with another lockdown, we thought some indulgence was justified! Special thanks to our friends at Chase Distillery and our superstar volunteer, Menna, for donating some incredible goodies.

Got to be in it to win it, buy your raffle ticket by clicking here!
Can you believe it? A year has gone by since we started the plight of keeping this charity going through the pandemic. We are all taking a moment to reflect. Conductive Education Awareness Week this year has not only been about raising awareness right now. It's been about recognising the limitless opportunities for learning, development and growth that a 'can do' mindset can bring.

For now, we just want to say THANK YOU - from every single one of us, for keeping in touch, for raising awareness by sharing posts on social media, for attending events and raising funds. We couldn't have done it without your amazing support.
Thank you for reading
