Unless you've been cut-off from the outside world for the past year, you know that the 2021 NCAA Wrestling Championships kick-off today. You also likely have a general understanding of what this Cardinal team went through to get to this point. Out of respect for that journey, we're going to keep this update brief.

There was an adjustment made in the brackets that changed one of the team's first round matchups since our last update went out. Fifth year senior captain Nathan Traxler (Hwt) has been moved up to the #25 seed following a late withdrawal. Traxler will now face the #8 seed Jordan Wood of Lehigh in the opening round. This being Traxler's first year competing at heavyweight, Traxler and Wood have no prior matchups.

NCAA championship brackets will be locked (i.e. no further adjustments) following weigh-ins. Event information, including brackets and video coverage, can be accessed here. Action gets underway at 8:00 AM PST today.

36 Sports Strong

36 Sports Strong (36 SS) added John Elway to its list of signatories recently. Elway was a Super Bowl champion, as well as the Super Bowl MVP. He is a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame. In recognition of his outstanding athletic career, both the Denver Broncos and the Stanford Cardinal have retired his iconic #7 jersey.

In addition to signing Elway, 36 SS has also been revamping its social media presence. Be sure to follow the 36 SS Facebook and Twitter for the most recent developments.
