A Musical Welcome to our Adopted Alp, and win unique Alp T shirts
This Saturday we will give the cheese from our adopted alp, Alp Steiners Hohberg, near the city of Fribourg a proper Swiss welcome. We will be receiving this year's Alpkäse, the incredible Vacherin Fribourgeois (pictured) and raclette: all made by the family team of Ruoti, Kevin and Fabian, using milk from the nine herds on the Alp.

From noon until 1 pm, Gabriela Martina will sing traditional and contemporary Swiss songs, yodel and tell stories of her growing up in Switzerland. If you can't make the singing, we will be live streaming on Facebook, from the event page.

There will also be a giveaway of free Steiners Hohberg T shirts, for those who do best in our Steiners Hohberg trivia competition (hint if you read these emails, or our adopt-an-alp web page, you will know all the answers!).
Cendré de Charlevoix
The Cendré de Charlevoix is as close to a French Morbier as we have found on this side of the Atlantic. Local unpasteurised Québécois cow's milk is used to make the cheese, who's rind is brushed throughout its 45 days of aging, to give it a slightly pinky color and sticky feel. But, of course, the line of ash running through the centre is the visual highlight!

The taste of the semi-firm, pliable interior is grassy, a touch salty with a sharp tang, and event a slight grassy aroma.

A very high quality cheese, from the same Canadian family who brought you the excellent Comté-style, Le 1608.
Halloween, of course
Yes, it's 31st October, and whether you are braving the weather today, or at the weekend, we have some 'spooky' cheese suggestions for you:

Mimolette: As bright orange as a pumpkin carved out this Halloween! But with a rich, salty taste.

Grey Owl: Yes, more has flown into our shop this week, so grab some of this sensational goat cheese, before it flies out again.

Red Witch: Where would a Witch be without her Owl? They make a fun pair!

Nimbus: Named after Harry Potter's flying broomstick, this wonderful triple crême will keep your inner-witch happy and flying!
Distraction Brewery: Cheese Please
If you're sat at our neighbor's, Distraction Brewery, looking longingly at Boston Cheese Cellar's windows, desperate for cheese, then worry no more! Not only, can you order online while you're sat in the brewery, but you'll be able to buy our cheese boxes from right inside the brewery! Perfect to share with friends, or eat alone!
