Hello VSSN friends!                                                     May 2015

We have had an extremely exciting month here at the Voluntary Sector Studies Network! It is an absolute pleasure having the opportunity to connect with such a wide variety of community members across Saskatchewan. It is your insights, knowledge, and experience that helps guide the development of the VSSN to better serve the province.

There have been numerous networking opportunities that we took part in this month. Please see “our latest endeavours” below for information on what we have been keeping busy with!

Our latest endeavors:
VSSN at the Neil Squire Society Job Fair

The VSSN had a very positive experience at the NSS Job Fair held on April 9th, 2015 at the UofR. Bryan Smith, a 4th year History major, volunteered for the day with Angela Tremka, a 5th year Kinesiology Fieldwork Student with VSSN, to talk with students about the vast number of jobs available in the non-profit/voluntary sector. The pair spread awareness about 12 databases on the VSSN website where students can go to search for jobs in the voluntary sector. View the full story here

VSSN accepts RCE award!

The Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development Saskatchewan (RCE Saskatchewan) Recognition Program provides recognition to innovative projects, research, and other activities promoting Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in the prairie region. The VSSN is very honoured to accept this award!
