Kansans deserve better than the personal attacks that have recently inundated this campaign. Many of you have encouraged me to respond to the recent email and Facebook posting from Senator Mitch Holmes.
I refuse to engage in the type of mudslinging that leads me to write this response. So, I will simply say I am disappointed in Senator Holmes, not because he doesn’t support me, but because he has failed to live up to the morals and principles I know he holds dear. He has resorted to attacking me personally.
I do not understand his actions. I believe Senator Holmes is a good man. I respect him for stepping up to serve our community. But, I believe he has been led astray by people who don’t live here, don’t work here nor raise their families here. As a Christian, we are called to forgive because none of us will be perfected in this world. We are called to strive to live a Christ-like life. For me, this means forgiving Senator Holmes.
A man’s faith and integrity are the true defining elements of his character. When they come under attack it does hurt. The people who really know me, know my heart. I strive to live out my faith daily and be a man of integrity.
I ask for your prayers. Thank you and God Bless. . .Greg
