Developing Loving Relationships with
hrist and Our Community.

Hello Stonehill Church Family,

We look forward to worshiping with you this Sabbath!

Treasure Quotes/Thoughts

Unconditional love, to love others as Jesus loved them (and us!), even if they don’t love us back - that is what we are called to do. But we are not able to give what we ourselves do not have. How do we obtain it? We must open our hearts to Jesus and His love, surrender to Him and allow His love to fill our hearts to overflowing. Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:” Christ must be the center of our lives, we must allow Him to get rid of our selfishness. Then and only then are we able to truly love those around us unconditionally as Jesus loves them/us.

Praise in Giving: Local Church Budget
Ownership. Ownership is an interesting word. We talk about things we own, such as a car or a house. But do we really own those things? Seems more like we rent cars since often by the time we reach the last payment, the car is worn out and needing replaced. And our home? If the state or federal government decides to build a road that crosses through your property, you are most likely going to lose your home. So who really owns the land? The Lords says, “For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills” (Ps. 50:10, NKJV). Not only that, but a few verses prior He challenges us in this fashion: “Gather My saints together to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice” (v.5). So who really owns our cars, our homes, and everything else? Let’s make a covenant by sacrifice today, and show it by the way we support His (God’s) work.

Converting an Adventist
Ki-Jo Moon’s interest in the Seventh-day Adventist church started long before an Adventist literature evangelist knocked on his door in South Korea. As a pastor of a major Protestant denomination, he sought to understand religious viewpoints other than his own. As he sought answers, he engaged in a fight against religious cults. Most Christians in South Korea categorize three groups as cults: Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and a South Korean group called New Heaven and New Earth. He gave a Bible lecture to the headquarters of New Heaven and New Earth and tried to convert a group of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Then he decided to learn more about the Adventists. When an Adventist literature evangelists, Hee-Sook Kim knocked on his door, he immediately prayed, “Thank you, God! I am curious about Adventists, and you have brought one to me.”
Mr. Moon attended Ms. Kim’s Adventist church secretly to learn more about them, but his wife found a church bulletin among his possessions and a conflict erupted between them. While pondering how to attend church without angering his wife, Ms. Kim invited them to a health seminar. His wife agreed to go. Then they were invited, and attended, an evangelistic meeting. After the meeting, the speaker encouraged Mr. Moon to be baptized but his wife urged him to wait, reminding him of his position and responsibility in their church. He decided to wait out his term of office before being baptized. When a church member, who had come to encourage them, said “You need to be baptized!” Mr. Moon’s response was that “I would pray about it” but his wife looked at the calendar and said “Feb. 4 looks like a good date to get baptized.” Mr. Moon says his life has been filled with joy after their baptism in February 2017. Mr. Moon looks forward to hearing the sermon every Sabbath and says, “I wanted to convert the Adventist literature evangelist, but she ended up converting me.”
