We need everyone’s help please. The septic pump had to be unclogged again this week. Along with the usual wipes clogging the pump, there was also found several pairs of adult boxers. The expense that has been paid out unnecessarily over the last few years to have the tank pumped and the pump unclogged is a large sum. Additionally, we will have the expense of replacing the pump since it will wear out sooner. Toilet paper is the only item to be flushed down toilets with excrement. All other items must go in the trash.
The Pathfinders would like to say thanks to the parents who supported our babysitting fundraiser. It was a success. We look forward to having many more children come out to have fun with our Pathfinders this month. The next babysitting will be on May 26.

Praise in Giving: Local Church Budget
The Hebrew economy. We generally tend to use the word “economy” in terms of finance. However, the dictionary reveals that it goes back to two Greek words: oikos, meaning house or household, and nomos, meaning rule or law. The oikonomos was the manager of a given household. The church is a household, and we are member of its family. We all have a role to play and are called to diligent and faithful service. During the days of Moses, the government of Israel was characterized by the most thorough organization, wonderful alike for its completeness and simplicity. “The work of the gospel, as it widens, requires greater provision to sustain it than was called for anciently; and this makes the law of tithes and offerings of even more urgent necessity now than under the Hebrew economy.” (Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 529).

Drawn to Him
When Daniel Guiboshe, the new chaplain, arrived a month late for the school year at Mamawi Atosketan [MAMA-way a-TOSS-key-tan] Native School in Alberta, Canada, he was befriended by 11-year-old Jojo Wolfe. She went out of her way to make him feel welcome. The chaplain and the little girl engaged in small talk about homework and friends on the playground. In the classroom, Daniel taught Jojo and her classmates about Jesus and the plan of redemption. One day, Jojo surprised Daniel with a drawing of a purple bug. “You’re the coolest pastor every!” she wrote beside the hand-drawn picture. Several weeks later, Daniel received word that Jojo had died over the weekend. Daniel wondered why.
The teachers and students grieved the loss, the school closed for a day, and they attended the wake, even helping to provide food for the family. Today Jojo’s picture hangs in Daniel’s office. “She made me feel at home when I got here,” Daniel said. “I want to remember her and what she did for me. She showed me that it’s not about me. It’s about what we can do for others.” When Daniel speaks to the children, he talks about what Jesus did for them and what they can do for others. Part of this quarter’s Thirteenth Sabbath Offering will help the Mamawi Atosketan native School expand its education program so it can teach more children about Jesus. Thank you for your mission offering.
