Language Translation: A new service is here at Stonehill—simultaneous English/Spanish translation of the sermon. We would like to reach out to everybody who is fluid in English and Spanish to volunteer in helping us to reach as many people as possible. We are hoping the service can be extended to other languages as well and make Stonehill even a bigger family. Those interested in participating can contact Marco Mendoza at any time of the day via email (email@example.com) and/or by phone at 512.406.9130. Marco is also available Sabbaths, usually at the Spanish Bible Study.
Praise in Giving: Southwestern Adventist University
On a daily basis, the faculty and staff at Southwestern Adventist University hear stories from students about how they came to be at SWAU. When they let God lead in the decision, they saw God open doors they would not have been able to open on their own. These students received scholarships to enable them to attend SWAU and are very involved, contributing in very different but very significant ways to the Southwestern University campus family. Their experiences are unique but not uncommon. While Southwestern students are studying and working hard towards their career goals, they have the irreplaceable opportunity to also daily grow their relationship with Christ and learn how to serve their community. Your offering this week allows God to open doors for these students. You are helping answer their prayers. Learn alongside these students and listen to what God is impressing on your heart.

Sabbath Over Bicycles
Jin Rong Gao, his wife, and several of his family members worked at a bicycle frame factory in Taiwan. Jin Rong and his wife had left their previous jobs because of a Sabbath conflict and now made a combined monthly income of U.S.$500. Jin Rong struggled with the small salary and considered looking for other work but was afraid he would have Sabbath problems. God saw Jin Rong’s needs and work at the factory increased…so much so that soon the factory boss announced that all 16 factory workers would need to start working on Saturdays. Jin Rong said he couldn’t do this. The boss advised if Jin Rong wanted to keep his Sabbath, he would lose his job. Jin Rong and his family went to church that Sabbath. They decided they would keep their faith, and not their jobs.
The boss was furious. Half his workforce was in church instead of filling an urgent order. He angrily told the seven other employees to take the day off. He said they had to work after sundown Saturday and on Sunday as well and for them to share the new work schedule with Jin Rong. The Adventist employees gladly worked after sunset Saturday and on Sunday. When the boss returned to work 3 days later, he asked Jin Rong if he wanted to earn more money. There was so much business the boss wanted to open a second factory with Jin Rong in charge, but it would require working on Saturdays. Jin Rong decided not to take the job. Instead of being upset, the boss announced a permanent change to his workshop’s schedule. He didn’t want to lose a good worker like Jin Rong, so he said the shops would be closed on Sabbaths and operate after sunset and on Sundays. Jin Rong sometimes get worn out working weekends but wouldn’t have it any other way.
