Worship Service
We know that God is interested in our personal prosperity, and has counseled us in Scripture to that effect. Was Jesus careful about such matters? Jesus, when He was risen, carefully folded His graveclothes and placed them with such care, each in a place by themselves. If Jesus was careful about even His graveclothes, then we imagine that that carried over into the rest of His life, including being a careful worker in His father’s carpenter shop. Whether it’s our finances, possessions, relationships, health, or time, let’s be faithful stewards in all that we do. And God will bless. He always does!

No Stale Food
Sadie’s [SAY-dee] husband was angry when she told him she was going to be baptized at an evangelistic series in Belize. Her husband, Marcos, had refused to attend the meetings with her. He now told her that he would leave her is she was baptized, that she would have to live with the Adventists. The next day he grumbled about the trials that he thought he would face with an Adventist wife. “I don’t want to eat stale food on Saturdays.” He threatened that if Sadie went through with baptism, he would beat her. Sadie prayed. After her baptism on Sabbath, Marcus hugged her instead of beat her. However, he grumbled about and refused to eat the food she prepared for Sabbaths, going instead to a bar near the Adventist church for food and to drink. He would greet her with a drunken hug as she walked past on her way home from church.
Sadie prayed for God to touch his heart and on Fridays she started ironing his best clothes so he would have something to wear to church. One Friday, Marcus agreed to go to church with her the next day but that night he went to the movies and then a bar. Shortly after he got home, a powerful earthquake shook the house. Marcus was terrified. The next day he went to church. A short time later an evangelistic series was held in their town. Marcus resisted going but eventually went and was baptized. Sadie and Marcus became faithful church leaders in Belize. Hundreds have joined the church through their influence.
