Hello Stonehill Church Family,
We look forward to worshiping with you this Sabbath!
Psalms 68:19 “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” Not just provides or just gives but loadeth us with benefits! Do we see/pay attention to those??? Reminds me of Malachi 3:10 “…open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it”! And we only come to God with our little “teaspoon” expecting no more blessing then that!!! He wants us to drag up our “Olympic size swimming pool” for His blessings.
A portion of Kelly Lane will be closed this Sabbath. Kelly Lane, from Pleasant Bay to its intersection with Weiss Lane, will close from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 for pipe trenching associated with the Weiss Lane Roadway Project. Traffic will be detoured via Hidden Lake Drive and Hidden Lake Crossing to Weiss Lane. Please drive carefully through construction detours.

Praise in Giving: Local Church Budget
Little People but a big example. When Jesus was here on earth, He went about doing good, preaching good news, healing the sick, and ministering to people’s needs. God created us to give, share, and help others. We have found that when we do something for others, we are blessed personally. “Our gift maybe talents, opportunities, or wealth. It may be nothing more than the ability to share ourselves. That too is stewardship.” – Adapted from Over and Over Again!, p. 62.

Forgive Me, Father
“I was not raised a Christian,” Horita Risa says. “I never thought about God growing up but I had many thoughts about my father. I didn’t like him.” Horita’s parents were divorced and she visited her father on the weekends. When her father fell ill, Horita had to take care of him. She wanted to do others things on her weekends and would tell her Dad she hated him. After he died, Horita decided to move to the United States. She visited some cousins in Chicago who were Seventh-day Adventist. They invited her to church and she really enjoyed it. She didn’t have time for church after school started though but her cousins kept asking her if she had found a church in Los Angeles. Finally she visited a church with the intent to leave right after the sermon to Skype with her mother. But the church was filled with young people who stopped her from leaving. She had lunch with them, spent the afternoon with them and enjoyed herself. Her new friends kept calling and spending time with her.
She wondered why they were spending time with her and finally realized they were showing her God’s love. One of her news friends gave her Bible studies. Horita wanted to get baptized but couldn’t forget how she had treated her father. She wished she could ask him for his forgiveness. One night she had a dream about her father. The next night, after having the same dream, she felt that her father had forgiven her. With the barrier gone, Horita was baptized. She is now back in Japan working as an art therapist for children, helping children overcome trauma. She prays for her mother to accept Jesus. The young people at her church are being trained to spread the gospel across Japan and part of the thirteenth Sabbath offering this quarter will help the church expand its work with young people.
