Hello Stonehill Church Family,
“In order to credit the correct account with your donation, please print first and last names clearly when filling out the envelope stub as there may be others with the same last name.”
Flowers up front: If you would
We look forward to worshiping with you this Sabbath!
Thank you for your help with the set-up, take down and clean-up of the church last Sabbath.
Thank you for bringing enough food for the Fellowship Lunch!
And a Special Thank you to Amy Wan and Sharlene Andryshak, for doing the childcare for us last Sabbath.
Please dispose of baby wipes in the trash can and not the toilet. It wreaks havoc with our pump station. FLUSHABLE WIPES ARE NOT FLUSHABLE, EVER!
Food for thought...
John 8:1-11 (NIV)
8 1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
Desire of Ages page 461
Impatient at His delay and apparent indifference, the accusers drew nearer, urging the matter upon His attention. But as their eye, following those of Jesus, fell upon the pavement at His feet, their countenances changed. There, traced before them, the guilty secrets of their own lives. The people looking on, saw the sudden change of expression, and pressed forward to discover what it was that they were regarding with such astonishment and shame.
The accusers had been defeated. Now their robes of pretended holiness torn from them, they stood, guilty and condemned, in the presence of Infinite Purity. They trembled lest the hidden iniquity of their lives should be laid open to the multitude; and one by one, with bowed heads and downcast eyes, they stole away, leaving their victim with the pitying Savior.
