Hello Stonehill Church Family,
We look forward to worshiping with you this Sabbath!
John 15:12 says, “This is My commandment, that you love one another” and John 13:34 states “A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” How did Jesus love us? We find in 1 John 4:19 that “We love Him, because He first loved us.” and in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” God’s love for us is unconditional - not based on anything we do or can do to earn it. Perhaps the following conversation gives us a slight glimpse of what unconditional love might look like.
Person 1 “I don’t believe in unconditional love, I mean, what is it anyway? Cut off my ears, steal my money and I’ll love you anyway?”
Person 2 “Yes, and more.”
Person 1 “More?”
Person 2 “You don’t have to love me back.”
God loves everyone, even if they don’t love Him back. We are commanded to love others as Christ has loved us. Do we? Are our hearts filled with Christ’s unconditional love for others? Whether they love us back or not?

Daily bread, a team of horses, and forty years. Shirley Ann Munroe tell the story: When my father died in 1938, one of his business associates cheated my mother out of our inheritance. My mother had no choice but to return to college to become certified to teach school in California. Some friends actually suggest to Mother that is wasn’t necessary to pay tithe in our difficult situation, an idea she quickly rejected. After the expenses of the move and settling in, there was no money left. Mother’s paycheck would not be received for another month. We knelt to pray for bread and placed our problem before the Lord. About an hour later, we received a special delivery letter that had been forwarded from our old address. It contained a check for $240. The letter explained that forty years earlier, my mother’s grandfather had underwritten a team of horses for a farmer who had never repaid the debt. The farmer had died and his son had found the unpaid promissory note. And he added forty years of interest to the amount owed.

Loving Two Pastors
Seeing a banner advertising a retreat for seminary students from a Sunday-keeping denomination, Hee-Sook Kim and two literature evangelists she was working with, went to the address listed and met the couple that was organizing the event. “We are from the Korean Publishing House, and we are here to share some literature,” Hee-Sook said. The husband recognized the name Seventh-day Adventist and asked why they went to church on Saturday. Hee-Sook related the creation story from Genesis and gave the couple a correspondence lesson, promising to bring a second one the following week. The couple knew a lot about the Bible, the husband having pastored for 30 years and the wife about a decade. So the next week Hee-Sook brought the “Conflict of the Ages” series books instead. The husband was interested in the Book of Daniel so the next visit, she brought commentaries on the books of Daniel and Revelation.
The pastor visited the Adventist church for a while but then stopped coming because his wife had forbidden him from going to the Adventist church. But Hee-Sook kept inviting him. About seven years after the first meeting, Hee-Sook invited the couple to a series of health seminars, including special detox sessions, at the Adventist church. The wife agreed to come. Then they accepted an invitation to an evangelistic series and came every night. They declared “We are melting into this message.” Eight years after Hee-Sook first meet them, the husband and wife were baptized together into the Adventist Church. The Word of God and our health message changes lives!
