Join us for a fun night of dinner and bowling on Saturday, December 9!
Chipotle (2424 FM 685, Pflugerville) is hosting a fundraiser for our school. You can eat dinner there anytime between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. When you mention you're with Stonehill Christian Academy, they will donate 50% of the proceeds to the school.
If you want to bowl after you eat, we suggest getting to Chipotle sometime between 6-7:30 p.m. After you eat, just go 1 mile down the same road, and meet us at Spare Time (1724 FM 685, Pflugerville).
We reserved and paid for bowling lanes from 7:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. You need to pay only for shoe rental: $3.99 for size 5 and bigger and $2.99 for smaller sizes.
Spare Time also has laser tag and an arcade. If you want a discount for laser tag, you must reserve your spot with Mike Escalante (escalanteco@gmail.com) by Thursday, December 7. To get a discount for the arcade, you can tell Spare Time staff on the night of the event that you’re with Stonehill Christian Academy. Any costs related to laser tag and the arcade must be paid for by you.

Mission Ministry
Reaching Youth Through Soccer
The neighborhood boys on Coach Bakhriddin’s soccer team have more to worry about than yellow and red penalty cards. They also have to avoid the special blue card, which the coach flashes when he hears a player use profanity. If a player receives two blue cards, he is out of the game. Parents like the discipline that Bakhriddin demands of his soccer players and have noticed the boys help more around the house, avoid profanity at home and are not spending as much time playing computer games.
The soccer team is part of an Adventist effort to reach out to neighbors in Tajikistan, a landlocked country in Central Asia that is predominantly Muslim. Only 204 Adventists live there. It is difficult to share Jesus because public evangelism is banned. But church leaders are hopeful after 18 people were baptized in 2016 as a result of prayer and outreach programs. Church leaders are working to develop more outreach programs like the soccer team. They are working to establish and English-language school, hold health and family expos, and support a small but popular bicycle club.
The soccer team was formed when neighborhood children saw Bakhriddin playing on the field near the only Adventist building in Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe [doo-shahn-bay]. They asked Bakhriddin to coach them. Fifteen minutes of every 90-minute training session is set aside for a moral lesson. The boys, ages 11 to 13, have quit using drugs and other harmful substances as they get involved in sports. No blue cards for profanity were flashed during a soccer match that Adventist Mission watched. The boys smiled widely whenever the coach addressed them. The parents invite the coach into their homes after soccer games. Please pray for the soccer team – not to win games, but to win hearts.
