Please check the lost and found table by the conference room. All items not claimed by February 10, 2018, will be donated to a good cause.

The Junior class is in need of leaders/teachers to help teach during Sabbath School. This would be a rotating teacher/leader position. Many have had the privilege of participating in the Great Controversy Tour, visiting historical sites from the Reformation where many followers of Christ were tortured and killed for their beliefs. Of course, these dedicated believers were only following in the footsteps of our Savior, the supreme sacrifice. It sort of puts our little sacrifices to shame, doesn’t it? Honestly now, how many of us have really sacrificed for the Lord? 1 Cor. 5:7 and Hebrews 13:15 tell us of sacrifice. To the best of our ability, and with God’s help, let us plan to sacrifice for Him and His cause, with our offerings, yes, but if necessary with our very lives.

Finding Their First Love
James and Louise grew up as childhood friends in Belize. As adults they immigrated to the United States, going their separate ways. As they neared retirement, they both moved back to Belize and renewed their friendship. In talking, they realized that they both where learning more from the Bible and wanted to follow what God had for them to do. Louise operated a hotel. When she learned about tithe, she started returning 10 percent of her income to God. As she read more, especially about the Sabbath, she made other changes around the hotel as well. She placed Bibles and “Steps to Christ” in each room and stopped doing laundry and other routine work on Sabbath. She wanted to listen to God’s voice about keeping Sabbath and running the hotel since hotels are open 7 days a week.
James and Louise realized they were both seeking God’s will and decided to get married. They went to church every Sabbath and grew increasingly convinced that they needed to leave the hotel business. But how? Then God worked out something wonderful. One of Louise’s U.S. business clients offered to take over the hotel. James and Louise have been baptized and are now leaders in the local Adventist church. They praise God for giving them the Sabbath as a day of rest and worship.
