Developing loving relationships with Christ and our community

Featured Ministry: Adventurers
By Ciara Parks, Ministry Leader

The Adventurer Club is a Christ-centered, family ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, working under the guidance of the conference Youth Department. Adventurer club is geared toward families with children in grades pre-K through 4th grade (ages 4 through 10). The goal of the Adventurer Club is to help families and caregivers help their children to live for Jesus. We do this by family participation in meetings, camping, community service projects, leadership opportunities, and sharing the gospel. There is also an exciting Bible quiz bowl each year, called Bible Adventures.

During meetings, Adventurers work on a curriculum that teaches how to live for Jesus; it is divided into four categories: Myself, My God, My Family, and My World. We also enjoy devotionals, songs, and worship designed for younger children. Each child earns awards (patches) and pins for completing the basic requirements and as well as other fun activities.

Adventurer Sabbath is this Sabbath, March 9th, and gives church members a unique opportunity to recognize and support parents. The Adventurers participate in the service in a meaningful way, such as, junior deacons (ushering or collecting offering), Scripture reading, storytelling (children’s story), singing, and greeting. The sermon is geared toward children or about positive parenting. All club members wear the Class “A” uniform.

We ask that Stonehill Church support the Adventurer Club by praying for our children, their families, and our leaders. Other ways that you can show your support for this ministry is by sponsoring an Adventurer child’s club dues/uniform fees, assisting with club activities, teaching an award, or donating different camping equipment, supplies, or money to the club’s fund. If interested in volunteering, please contact the club director.
Dear Church Family,

We hope this newsletter is a useful resource for church members to stay involved and be in-the-know.
