Philippians 2:13-15 NIV
Shining as Stars
13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. 14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe

This Week:
SERMON - Musical Program by Jerry Nelson
Elder in Charge: Rhona Ballarta, (512) 990-8251
Praise Team: Young Adults Team

Stewardship Offering – Texas Vision Today, when we return God’s tithe, we are reminded that it is important to the mission of the church. It also shows that we recognize we are accountable to God and have a responsibility toward others.
Pastor Update: I have received word from Elder Demoraes that Pastor Eugene Kitney has accepted the call to serve the Lord at to our church. Details of his arrival date are still being worked out. Thank you all for your gracious and kind spirit during this process. Often in churches navigating this transition, this can be a time that is charged with anxiety, uncertainty and frustration. I did not experience that, and I am grateful to you all. Keep looking up, and pressing forward. –Peter Walker

at our very own church park under the trees.  Arrive around 6:00 p.m. to enjoy conversation with your church family.  Bring your favorite picnic food to share with all.  Veggie hot dogs will be furnished to roast on the camp fire.  Bring your own lawn chair to enjoy the evening.

We have trees!!! All the dead trees in the parking lot have been replaced with new varieties of Oaks and Cedar Elm trees. Thank you all for your tithe offerings to the local church budget to make this possible. Our church looks beautiful and inviting!
Ladies of the Lord is back!!! Join us on May 9th for our first meeting. We'll be having food and s'mores (and some fun). When: May 9th, 7:30 - 9:30 pm. Where: Lisa Walker's house. Please contact Lisa Walker, Priscila Obando, Limari Maldonado, or Kijana Knight if you want to be a part of it!

On May 2nd at Stonehill: Internationally-celebrated concert pianist, Jerry Nelson, has established himself as one of the world's premiere performers, having performed on all continents.  He has teamed up with Dino and Anthony Burger, and accompanied such artists as Glen Campbell, Sandi Patti, Tom Netherton and Steve Amerson.
As a composer, arranger, conductor and studio producer, he has conducted orchestras from London and Tel Aviv to Nashville and Los Angeles.  His creative touch appears on over 500 recorded projects working with sons Scott and Brad.  His publishing and arranging efforts include several dozen original songs and over 5,000 arrangements.
Jerry's first "official" assignment was playing piano at age 10 in a small Minnesota church.  He began his career in public school music also in Minnesota followed by over three decades arranging and directing orchestra at Denver First Nazarene Church.  But today, Jerry and Rachel are focused on a full-time concert career.
Much of the proceeds of their efforts enable occasional trips to the Congo and Zimbabwe where Jerry performs concerts and Rachel works with AIDS victims and training youth peer groups.  They also work with humanitarian programs including economical water purification and advanced education for promising youth.  Retirement, Jerry says, is not yet on the radar screen.  Jerry will be performing in concert on May 2nd at 11:00am at Stonehill SDA Church.

There is no charge for admission.

School Wish List (contact Cici if you can help):
• Volunteer drivers for various community outreach projects. With only one van, we have had to cancel various outreach projects as we don’t have enough rides for our students.
• Volunteers to help supervise lunch/recess times. This would be very helpful as the teachers would have some time to prep for various classes.
• Volunteers to read with students. With many of our students coming from a non-English speaking home, it would be helpful for students to have more practice reading out loud in English.
