ASA News-Welcome to Semester 1 2016

Get set up for the good times at uni by making sure you attend social Orientation. Head on over to Student Central, 11am-2pm, Monday 29th Feb to Thursday 3rd March. And if you go home after lectures, make sure you're back in time for the evening events. For all the details, make sure you LIKE our Facebook page so that you get all the updates of where, when, what, how etc!! We also have a week of horse-racing so make sure you're ready to gallop! And YES, there will be an opportunity to get a photo in our Kombi!! PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE FOR THE AMAZING RACE. IT WILL NOW BE AT 5PM.

Your class needs you! All students are encouraged to sign up to the ASA Class Advocates program. Becoming a Class Advocate won't only be great for you, giving you the opportunity to develop a whole range of new skills, it will help to protect the quality of your education. ASA provides you with a training session over lunch and the support of our advocate throughout the year. At the end of the year, we have a big PARTY and everyone is presented with a certificate.  Through out the year, there are PRIZES, PRIZES, PRIZES to be won!  Sign up here.

This is a day not to be missed!! Hopefully you'll have been to the on-campus screening of The Road to El-Dorado hosted by our very own Movie Club on Tuesday evening.  Come today preprepared to scale the heights of a rock climbing wall, kick a football, enter club run competitions etc etc.  If you find the club you want doesn't already exist, we'll be there to help you get it up and running.  Do NOT go through uni without joining a club!! Find out all about ASA and clubs here.

If you are on a club committee or if you are starting up a new club, make sure that you've been in touch with Marusa, the Clubs' & Activities Coordinator, re attending the Clubs' Development Workshop.  It's being held on Wednesday 9th March at 12:15pm in the Student Lounge. You'll find out everything you need to know re any changes in the clubs' policy, affiliating to the ASA, club grants etc. Each affiliated club that is represented gets $50 popped into their club account!

If you don't already know how hard it can be to find a park in time to get to your lecture, the likelihood is that you soon will. ASA operates the car pool scheme that allows you to park in the car park in front of the Atrium building. You WILL SAVE both TIME & MONEY if you don't have to drive round and round the carparks looking for a space! Find out more & sign up here.
